2021 Shoulder Length Challenge

There are 29 days left. Grow hair grow :lol: Unless the weather is super nice, I will probably do my hair xmas eve and maybe wear it sort of nice for xmas.

I would love to have hit SL by the end of this month. But it is not to be. But I am nape length. Considering where my hair was last December, that is an incredible feat for me.

I'm looking forward to my length check. I'm glad to have healthier hair. I really think I will be able to enjoy my hair more Spring 2022 :yep:
 
Redid some of my cornrows that were extra frizzy. It's really hard to tell if I've gain any length but my hair definitely looks better. I could do without the greys though.

My holiday work schedule changed so I'm not sure when I'll be doing my final wash and straighten for the length check. If I'm not at SL, I'll be thisclose and still will try for APL for the end of 2022.
 
@faithVA love that you're in the puff zone! Keep growing! I'll stay in the challenge since I hope to be APL soon. :)

I'm so happy with my progress this year. I finally feel like I'm retaining what I grow. I couldn't get a good pic this morning, but I'll post anyway. I'll try to get a better length pic before December 31st.

Fabulous. I can definitely see your progress.

And I feel you about getting good pictures. I'm not sure why sometimes it's so hard :lol:
 
Not much going on. I cleansed today and then put in 2 strand twists. I had planned on blow drying and trimming my ends but I think I'm just going to trim my ends in twist. At the end of the month I will blow dry for length check pics but I won't trim then. I have a curly cut appointment in January. If my ends need trimming more I will just have her do it.

Trying to take measurements is such a pain in the butt. I'm definitely not doing this again until Dec 31st :laugh: Basically half of my hair is flourishing and my bangs and nape are out here struggling :whyme:. Something went wrong in these past 2 months, and the first thing that comes to mind is the fact that I protective styled for 3 weeks, which I've never done before :confused: . Now I have to backtrack and see if I can figure it out.

Did my whole routine yesterday and today. It has been a minute since I blow dried, flat ironed and trimmed my ends. Whew... that's some work. I can't believe I used to do this more than 1x a year :lol:

I would love to have made SL but I am happy with my progress. I feel like SL is within reach in 2022

December 2021: This is before I trimmed. I was too lazy to take another picture after the trim.

The top of my crown reaches to the bottom of my ear. Then the other areas reach my nape. The hair at my nape reaches my collar bone. The front of my hair I think is right below my lip. Most of my hair can reach into a struggle pun with the hair at my nape needing another 1 inch or 2.

I trimmed it and then put it into 2 flat twist.

I made it y'all.

Just by the skin of my teeth. My hair is still uneven and I need a trim but overall I'm there. It looks like my left side caught up with my right side and everything thickened a bit. I need to work on my camera angles for consistency.

Left is first week of October, right is 12/31/21.

Here is also a mini collage of my way day. I colored my hair and did an Olaplex treatment. Blow dried with my Revair and then flat ironed
