This is a no-lye? I thought it was a lye relaxer. I've been using lye exclusively for the past 3.5 years or so that I've been here. Darn, I was really excited about trying this relaxer "system".
Yup. HoneyDew got hers and she said it was no-lye.

AHHHHHHH :wallbash: I didnt know it was no-lye. I have been using mizani lye since I started relaxing. I hope this doesnt change anything. I dont ever remember using no lye in my hair....off to searching for no-lye I really want to try this relaxer.

This system does look good! Great marketing on Mizani's part....

HoneyDew: did you get the mild or regular?

Cayenne: I saw the Optimum Multi-mineral bodifying relaxer mild & was tempted to purchase even though I have a phyto 1 sitting in my closet. ..waiting for me to open it...is it good?

The only special ingredient in this relaxer is the Shea butter, though. Not that big a comparison because it is a no-lye, but Profectiv has more yummy ingredients. They need to make a LYE relaxer.

You guys, Honeydew was referring to the Profectiv Relaxer when she mentioned no-lye. The Mizani butterblend is a lye-based relaxer system.

Thank God it's a lye relaxer because I just ordered it! You can't beat the price! I'm sorry, I have to order this.

I'm going for mild because I want a texlaxed look. Can someone tell me where I can buy the trial kit in MILD? I only saw "Regular/Normal" on the paynes website. HELP!

But this stuff is looking like the bomb. I'm going to tell you guys all about it...in 5 weeks (10 week stretch ends). I'm not stopping my stretch just to try this out. Even though I really really want to.

Honeydew, stop confusing us I was beginning to think someone bamboozled you and sold you some fake no-lye Mizani :slap:

I love it!! I used it about 2 weeks ago and I have to say that this is the best my hair has felt in over a year. I promise I will post updated pictures after my next relaxer.

Does anyone know where to purchase this relaxer (MILD) not regular?

I really want to order it.

Oh I can breathe better now...thanks for pointing that out. I was about to have a heart attack over here....hahahaa

Great pitch, but is it really...If someone asked us to create a relaxer, what would we want that product to do????

AAAAAAAAAAH! I can't wait to see pics of this relaxer! I think I'm ordering it when I get paid Tuesday. Hopefully someone will post pics before then. :wallbash: :drunk:

So it is lye? Darn it. I really wanted to try this. I'm scared to death of putting a lye relaxer on my hair. Looks like I will be sticking with ORS.

Sorry!!

I was just saying that the Profectiv No-Lye has better ingredients than Mizani Butter Blends Lye and that they need to come up with a Lye relaxer like ORS did.

I just ordered the trial kit from paynes and will put it on as soon as it gets here. My friend just got a relaxer yesterday and was raving about it, come to find out it was the Mizani butter relaxer system. Her stylist loves it and she said her hair looks great. Bouncy and shiny and that it feels and looks really moisturized.

My goodness!! There are so many pages to this thread, I would like to see a review thread on this product, it really does sound like a very good product!

Has neone used this product at HOME? So far the only two reviews I see have been done at the salon.

Im wondering how many uses you get out of the Trial size kit... Id hate to spend $50 dollars (w/ shipping) on a one time thing when I can get a bucket of the Mizani Lye Mild for twenty some odd dollars and have it last a good while.... :perplexed:

I will be trying mine out this weekend. The size of the rhelaxer looks like maybe 3 applications but the other products may be good for 1 or 2 depending on how liberal you are with products. I use a lot of anything just because I like to make sure everything is saturated...but that's just me. I will post a review on Monday after I relax on Sunday.

My stylist used the new butter blend relaxer system on my hair last month. I really liked the way my hair felt during and after she was done with my hair. I actually watched her do another womans hair with it when I came in (I arrived early). When she finished styling the womans hair it was so soft and beautiful. She had a short cut. I could tell when she was combing through it that it was very soft. I asked my stylist what she used and she said she used the Mizani Butter Blend on the client and would also be using it on my hair that day! I was so excited because I was going to ask her about it anyway!

Yes, it's a really good system. It didn't burn. My hair was well conditioned during and afterwards. It was very easy for her to comb through my hair. No complaints.
