(1.) What is your hair care regimen?

I deep condition once a month with a plastic cap with a moisturizing conditioner. My hair does not like a lot of protein. I then Giovanni Direct Leave Kinky Curly Knot Today and seal both with Coconut Oil. I moisturize and seal daily and it has made a difference with retention. I dust my ends once every 6 weeks and will trim dead ends as needed. I do protective styles 99% of the time and flat iron twice a year. We sleep in silk hats with no hair ties. I co-wash my hair once or twice a week using Tresemme Naturals. I low poo my hair using Neem and Shea Butter shampoo once a month or as needed.

(2.) Do you take any supplements, If so, What are they?

I take prenatal vitamins along with fish oil. I am not sure if it makes my hair grow faster, but my hair is moisturized and soft.

(3.) Currently, how long is your hair and what is your hair type?

My hair is just hitting HL now and my hair type is 3C.

(4.) What are the things that you feel have helped you most in achieving and maintaining your hair length?

Patience, protective styling, moisturizing, trimming, exercise, and a supportive husband. I also learned to stop being a product junkie and stick with what works. I try to keep my hands out of my hair and focus on other things.

How long was your hair when you started your HHJ?

I was APL when I first began and BSL when I really began to learn about hair health and growth. I would get on the boards and admire all of the beautiful heads of hair. I looked at all of their regimens and tried different things until I found what worked for my hair.

You have gorgeous hair and so does your daughter. I did the same thing you did--looking at all of the beautiful heads of hair and developing a regimen over time. It's what worked best for my hair.
