Ask A Hip Length Lady

How are you Ladies wearing your hair for these warm weather months?

I've been living in buns. A wet bun immediately after washing....(wooo chile this keeps my head cool for at least 5 to 6 days :lachen:) or I will stretch my hair in Braids after washing and then pull those back in a bun for a week. The 2nd week, I'll take the braids loose and rock my hair down for a day and then...you guessed it, :lachen: do a high bun or low bun on that previously stretched out hair.
The weather in my neck of the woods go from either rainy and humid to heat on hell. Buns are just the easiest to do to accomodate Mother Nature right now.

I miss my sleek and smooth roller sets. :cry3:I'll go back to them in the fall though. :toocool:

Bumping for inspiration in 2020

Also bc I am growing back here this year! Ultimate goal is TBL.

No, I did not cut my hair. It fell out and was destroyed at the end of 2018 by DevaCurl. :crying3:

Thankfully my hair has bounced back and is currently right at WL!! :yep: I expect to be back at Hip Length this Summer ♥️

I’m so sorry to hear this! But happy that you’re still pushing forward. What products will you be using instead?

Thank you!

I am resorting back to all the brands that I have used in the past that has worked on my hair. Including:

Shea Moisture
Aussie
Tresemme
Novex (I have used their products in the past and I love their My Curls Deep Conditioner :lick: it made my hair feel like butter with the quickness!)
Carol's Daughter
Camille Rose
Kinky Curly

Dominican hair care products, such as Crece Pelo, Silicon Mix, La Bomba, etc. :yep:

All the above has worked great in my hair over the years with no issues. :)

Thanks for the reply! I’m on mobile so if anything I’m about to ask is listed in your siggy etc, sorry! Because I can’t see it. That being said...

What line/products do you like from Shea Moisture? They have so many!

What do you like from Camille Rose? I’m looking to try her out. I’ve only used her Cacao Nibs oil which I liked

And lastly, what’s your hair type/thickness?

No problem! :)

My favorite lines from Shea Moisture are the Coconut & Hibiscus line for curly hair (Shampoo/Conditioner/Smoothie/Milk/Masque), I also love their original Raw Shea Butter Line (Shampoo/Conditioner/Masque) and the JBCO line (Shampoo/Masque/Leave In). I usually stick to those 3 lines, I have been using them off and on for YEARS.

I love the Blue Algae Deep Conditioner and Curl Maker from Camille Rose, I want to try the Fresh Curls and Curl Love. I've tried that oil and liked it too! :yep:

My hair type is Normal Porosity (not really Low or High, it's in the middle), curl patterns range from 3b in the front to 4a in the back, most of my hair is 3c, so I just usually put 3c. My hair isn't really thick, it's a medium thickness.
