I'm on a serious mission for 2013... I want strong, long and thick hair - who doesn't right? So.... what has been the best growth aids that assisted you in your journey to healthy hair to accomplish these goals?

Castor oil was really good for me, alternated with a sublimed sulfur mix gave me some great growth. :)

for me it was definitely patience. I know it sounds corny. but for years ive tried high amounts of biotin (i even went as high as 15,0000mcg), msm, megatek, mtg, homemade sulfur mixes, castor oil, MN, wild growth, hair skin and nails pills. Nothing increased my growth rate, and i would use these product religiously. I just had to freakin' wait which pissed me off. Slowly but surely my hair is gaining length. I wish it would grow faster though, but now i know neither internal or external aids help me.

I think the best way to get growth is from the inside out like biotin, Hairomega, and Viviscal. Multivitamins and water add to this. If your body is happy, your hair is happy.

Saw the best growth when I was taking the Nioxin supplement and biotin.

I second the Nioxin. The bottle says take one a day but I take two.

ETA: I take one in the morning and one in the evening.

I get an inch a month taking biotin. I use Natrol Extra Strength. I'm going to start using the essential oil mix in jbco to grow back my edges and nape.

I made my BC on AUG 2011 and on 2012 i was obsessed with growth cause my hair was too short, i took pictures every month to see my growth. The best growth i noticed was when i was doing daily co-washes and following some type of CG method, no silicones, letting the conditioner on hair and firnger combing.

Let me show it with pictures (i made the CG and co-washes from may to june)

April 2 (got a trim on april 21)

If by any chance you want to see the rest of the pictures, here's a link to my blog (is in spanish though) http://afroylatina.com/?cat=10

Now i'm using a mix with MN, sulfur and oils, (is Njoy's Sulfur mix + MN)since the begining of the month, I've been consistent and took a picture I hope to see some growth. I wanto to do the daily co-washes again, but i'm very lazy now that my hair is longer to do that every day >,<

This is the brand I have. Are u talking about the 10,000 mg?

No, mine is 5,000 mcg. I take it with a Solaray B-Complex 50 so I don't break out. I was gonna try sulfur but the growth I get with this alone is amazing and I don't want to screw up my progress by adding in something else.

Wow that is awesome progress... I'm too lazy to wash my hair that often and have to deal with it. If I washed my hair once a week I would have to kiss myself and pat myself on the back. Once every two weeks I'd be lucky and still deserve a pat on the back. I wash my hair more like every 3-4 weeks...ewwww I know that's not real good. Your right when it's short its so much easier to handle, I remember when I kept my hair short years ago... it was so easy. But maybe this is something I need to change and try to wash my hair at least once a week. And the thing is I work from home which should make it much easier... I'm just lazy. :nono::yep::nono:

Other than keeping my scalp clean, I really can't think of anything else. Some of these responses are interesting though. Let us know what you decide to go with

I agree with patience,a good diet and exercise. However i don't consider these growth aids. this is what you need for your hair to grow any way. i don't think anything can make your hair grow faster

Mega Tek and Ayvuredic's - Kapi Tone powder.

Mega Tek- used it every other day and experience growth after 1-2 weeks of using it

Kapi Tone- used it once a week and experience growth the second week of using it

They both make your scalp a little itchy, but I don't mind; I'm assuming my hair is just growing.

I'm going back to mega tek. I've been at bsl for way too long. I still have the original bottle.

Thank you, I've been trying to find a way to not break out when I take these pills. Mine is 10,000 mcg Natrol Biotin.

I prayed for wisdom to care for my hair, and the revelation of how to treat my hair came. I needed to increase my iron and other vits. I found that carefully blow-drying on med heat every 2 weeks (using lots heat protecting products, deep protein treatments as needed) and once month flat ironing, has rid me of "the dreaded knots" which were the culprits to always having to trim. I purposed since last summer to see if it really worked, and my growth retention has proven it definitely works "for me” And to the Lord be the glory!
I’m aiming for bra strap this year and for the first time since my HHJ, with the holy spirits help; I’m going to do it!:yep:

I swear by wild growth. Here's the thing: I can use it for a month or so, and...nothing. 2 - 3 months after I stop using it...I get wild growth! I have no science to back this up, but it's been a part of my regi every time I've grown my hair out (to BSL and beyond).

Extremus

Would you explain how you used the Kalpi Tone? Did you make an oil or a paste and then rinse, for example?
