No but I wish her the best (yay black business!) and the shirt is cute! $30 is just a little too much for a Tshirt imo

Nope. Not only do I think "making it necessary for everyone" is a weak acronym but i wouldn't wear anything that said Taren Guy on it. I wish her much success, but I will keep her name off my Tatas.

I agree. she mentioned the word "movement" a few times in the video and I cannot see how that stems from " Making It Necessary for Everyone". It's all mine sounded like a celebration of natural assets. Hair, boobs :look: or bum.

Anyway she looked nice in the video.

At OP, nope. I am not buying.

That design looks familiar. I thought someone had that picture as their siggie for a while.
If it didn't cost $30 bucks, if it didn't have her name on it, if it didn't look so small (on her skinny self), I'd MAYBE consider it.

OT: Am I the only one not feeling her fro? I like her old style - pre bc.

Yup, that design has been floating round awhile now...

Much, success Ms. Taren...

(way overpriced, imho) :look:

If her name wasn't on it I would have considered it....but since it is on the shirt...no.

Why would she do that? That probably will kill 75% of her sales.

That image was a portrait someone drew of her. She showcased the image in a video at one time, which is why some of you may have seen it before. It is a design meant for her, but you know how we do with our siggie pics...

No. I am a Taren fan but I have NEVER spent $30 on a t-shirt, especially one with such a simple design.

I also agree that it was kind of unnecessary to put her name on it.
It's probably be cuter if she had someone to color the line art, but oh well.

The name killed it for me. The price is meh but if it's something I'd love and wear to death (like my other "Curly Girl" tshirts) then that's fine.

But I'm not about that free advertising life. I understand branding but there are much more subtle, consumer friendly ways to do it.

Hell, if her name would've been on the tag of the tshirt or on a damn seam or something, I'd be down. Ah well.

No thanks...and the "making it necessary for everyone" makes no sense. What is she talking about that is "necessary" for everyone? Natural hair?

Sadly she still is not quite sure how to harness the following she's already built up. When she really figures that out, she could be a force to be reckoned with.

...she seems to try extra hard to be trendy (there's a better word but I cant think of it) with the lipstick, giant hair, boobs overflow, big earrings...it's all there and can all look good but it's not classy (again, for lack of a better word.)

...why did I just type all of that?? Idk. I think because I believe she can do soo much better and I want that for her. She's someone I see with genuine potential.

I like Taren and all but she is no Kimora Lee, its not necessary for her to have her name on it. Also its expensive.

nah but i know some folks around here are going to buy three.

empressri when i read this i got this cooling sensation down my back of shade.

OT: but I really love Taren's curly/kinky full Afro much better than when her hair was heat trained with those loose curls.

What a cute t-shirt. I might get one for myself. Maybe $30 is a lot but I'd rather to give it to my own people than pay a few dollars less and have it go to a big corporation.

I love her fro. If I wore my hair like that I'd look cray LOL

Sent telepathically through my minds eye

I see a lot of people saying they won't purchase based on the price and because her name is plastered on the front. Genuine opinions IMO or maybe I didn't read all of the post.
I won't purchase.

well my comment contained zero shade. I have no problems with Taren at all. My comment was simply from a "maximize your profits" standpoint. Her name on the shirt killed it because her brand isn't large enough to command it.

Like someone else said...her name on the tag? Perfect..that will build brand recognition. On the shirt? Its too early for that.

I see that the shirt is a limited edition. Could this be a test run to see how sales go? It's a cute shirt but I think the price point is too high.

There's quite a bit of unnecessary shade in this thread...

Yea I am kinda late on the Taren train so maybe I missed reasons why people have problems with her. Honestly I don't think the 30 price tag is too steep for the style of the shirt. They go for at least 20 or more at the hair shows.

Right. Big name designers sell overpriced t shirts all the time but they get away with it because people are willingly paying for a name, image, and marketing. Most people outside of hair forums don't know who Taren Guy is yet.

I'm glad she is doing her own thing. She was just talking about using the vlogging platform to make some money. Good for her! Does anyone on here have any business ideas coming out soon?
