5'2 Ladies- What Is Waist Length On You??

I'm 62.5". From the tippy top of my crown it's 22", from the nape/kitchen it's 16". I've never measured that before- interesting. From the nape I'm guessing I'm at 7-8". I'm honing in on APL (9") in the back but I don't plan on claiming it for quite a while b/c I have too many different lengths going on.

Its hard to compare these results because I think some people are measuring in different spots and have a different definition of waist. "Waist" for these purposes is not where your pants sit on your waist. It should be the SMALLEST part of your torso about where the rib cage ends, above the belly button.

OMG, this confirms that us tall ladies are at a disadvantage!

that's why when someone says it took X years to get from SL to WL I always want to know their height. :look: Kimmaytube went from from SL to WL in 1 1/2 years (from about spring 2009 to Jan 2011).

OT: I know height shouldn't make that much of a difference (after all it's only 2-3 inches more for a woman at 5'10) but I notice that most of the long haired type 4 naturals are below average height (kimmaytube, LHDC2011, Chime, Sera2544). :scratchch:

It really doesn't make much of a difference at all. Its all about the torso length. . and maybe even neck length, lol. I just peeked into the spinoff thread (5'5) and my inches to waistlength was longer than the majority of theirs.

I wonder how many inches it was from nape to WL for kimmaytube, Sera2544, LHDC, etc, tho.

I disagree, being short does not make the hair journey any more easy than a tall person. If it were so, I should have reached WL a long time ago, along w/many other ladies.

If you look at the overall measurements (between tall & short women), then the difference in length of time to get to waist length should be a matter of months, not years. Besides, the numbers are so close it seems to have little to do w/actual height. Some women on the 5'2" thread have a longer distance to go. Explain that?? Now you named a few select people and I don't know where you're getting their height from, but Chime (or Haircrush) is almost 6' tall (see : Length Check 27" Video). If one were to choose from a larger pool, I'm sure height has nothing to do with it.

Ok, I'm not 5' 2", but I went all out and did the following measurements...
(I am 5' 4")

Nape to:

  • Bottom of neck/top of shoulders: 4 inches
    Arm pit: 9 inches
    Below shoulder blade: 11 inches
Middle of back: I guess somewhere between BSB and WL
Waist (narrowest part of torso): 17 inches
Hip (top of the hip bone): 20 inches
