What is your measurement in inches from shoulder to waist?

This would be better if most people knew how to accurately measure. Some people have no idea where their waist is or where to place/start the measuring tape.

That's all I'm saying.

That's true. LOL! Some of these posts have me scratching my chin trying to figure out how it's biologically possible to have some of the measurements I'm seeing. I just didn't want to say anything.

My friend used to work for a clothing company doing customer service via email, and he said women would give these way out measurements that could not possibly be correct. He said he couldn't believe women needed to be taught (by a man) how to properly measure their bodies. But nowadays everything has a size assigned to it so people often go by that instead of their actual measurements.

I knew that the variation wasn't going to be THAT big of a difference. Maybe 2 inches at the most. Most height is in the legs. You don't see long torso people with short stubby legs! And a long legged person might have a slightly SLIGHTLY shorter torso than a shorter legged person. Height is not relevant. We're not competing with each other. Long hair is meaningful whether BSL is 13 inches or15 inches.

Someone the other day was talking about how some might people be waist length at "2 inches of hair." There aren't any midgets around here. And no one is "cheating" on the shoulder length, armpit length etc.

Sorry but as a short person with a big head and no neck, (see my avatar) I was getting tired of the whining from the pea headed long neckers! :)

I don't believe you can speak for 1,000 plus people. YOU may not be competing, but perhaps someone else is. So what? Some people have competitive natures. That's life.

I'm not here to compete, but I'm not here to join the sisterhood of hair either. I give props when it's due, but I'm here to keep up on products, techniques, vitamins, etc. Personally, I'm getting annoyed at the attitude that you're not being a good LHCF member if you don't want to sing Kumbayah until a light misting of Care Free Curl Gold. I love OT chat and things of that nature, but when it comes to hair, I'm really about the business and I want specifics as it relates to me.

If it only takes 19" of hair for someone to be waist length, good for them! I do not feel guilty for seeking out hair-models who have similar textures and length goals as me (in inches, not in body parts). I'm not hurting anyone, so I don't see what the complaining is for. I paid the same $6.50 and I'll approach my hair goal in whatever way suits me. And it suits me to find and follow women who are also natural and who have a goal of 20+ inches of hair or more. It doesn't mean I don't admire and envy women who have hair that is is long and lovely - on THEM.
