When growing your hair out from a big chop did you find that your hair grew at the same length or that the areas surrounding the hairline took a little longer to grow?

well... i think everyone has different hair growth patterns really. my mum and all my brothers grow longest at crown.

from what i've read on here some people have issues w/ the back, some w/ front, some w/ sides.

it's all individual.

what prompts your q?

nzeee I just wondered if these areas took longer to grow than the top or if everything grew at the same length. As I haven't been natural since I was 12 and I'm now 25 so its all new to me really so I just wanted some idea of what to expect :yep:

Hair grows at the same rate. What is different is the terminal length of the hair. Your hairline tends to be shorter because it has a shorter terminal length than other hairs on your head. It is the same reason why your eyebrows, lashes and body hair does not grow to be 3 ft long, it has a short (less than 45 days I believe) lifespan.

If the hairline is an issue, it could be the headscarf or hats that are worn and also ones sleeping habits (sleeping on a certain side).

My bang area grows the slowest and my nape appears longer b/c it's a different texture. As my cut was growing in, I chose styles that hid the differences.

i find that my nape grows the fastest and thus has the longest strands. My sides and then bangs. My crown is the slowest growing area but it is the thickest part of my head of hair.
