And how do you make a poof pony with scrunchies?? I add a really thick conditioner to my hair and try to coax curls by pulling the hair down. I then add my Qhemet Moisturizer (probably the A&O heavy cream, but it depends on the weather). I use the blowdryer with the comb attachment but use the "warm" setting. Iblowdry the roots (fairly) straight but no so much the roots. I love it with my ends are still curly so the hair hair more fullness and a better shape. I then pick out any spots that are uneven. I use those cloth-covered hair bands and make about 6-8 ponytails all over my head so that when I take a shower to go anywhere the hair won't shrink back up. I apply the QB Honey balm to my ends to keep them soft.

How big is your afro? I would say it's about nape length approaching shoulder.
