Why didn't I know that my hair was as long as it is?

I was doing an oil rinse and I stretched my hair down and it hit the top of my brastrap. I was shocked!

Mind you I still have a long way to go till my goal, but just goes to show you that you need to applaud progress! I don't know if that's ever happened to anyone else but that was an "Ah ha" moment for me!

My hair is nowhere near as long as yours but the progress did sneak up on me. I would have put money on the fact that my hair hasn't grown since October. I had to go look at a pic from October and then I was like "oh" , I guess it has grown. It's not SL yet so I'm not fully appreciating the progress.

It's funny that growth can sneak up on you. I'm normally watching it like a hawk.

That's the odd thing. I am watching it like a hawk. I'm always stretching it to see where it is. I figure I must have that hairrexia (sp) thing I've seen posted. My hair always seems the same length to me.

My progress pics go up this month so maybe that will help.

Yes, the same thing happened to me last month. In November/December, I was barely grazing SL. When I did a mini-length check last month, it was actually "hanging" down my back! I couldn't believe it was my hair I was looking at lol. Mind you, it wasn't hanging like yours, but there was enough to make me smile. Never had that before

Congratulations!!!! One time when I got my hair relaxed I saw how far it laid in the front. It was pleasant surprise. Then a worst surprise was when SHS cut it off.

I have a similar experience. Usually when I wash in the shower I would see lead hairs only to find out that they were shed hairs just sliding down and out. Now every time I look down and see my hair I always have to give it a little tug to make sure its still attached to my scalp.

I also got surprised this past week after I flat-ironed my hair for the first time in 3 months. I was shocked to see how far my hair rubs down my shoulders and along my arms.

Mine happened in the shower.
I always wash my hair in braids.

For some reason, I co-washed my hair loose while I was taking a shower. I was probably going to wear it in an afro puff.
Anyhoo, all of a sudden I had all this hair falling in my face and past my shoulders. I felt like a wet sheep dog.

I was so startled, I jumped out of the shower to see what the heck was going on with my hair.
That is when I realized I had a mess of hair.
