Is it just me, or is it just STUPID to get your hair straightened before going to the beach?? No shade, but people don't actually swim anymore? Smh.....
 
They look pretty. I wanna go to Cabo! I hope they had fun.

If she wants to rollerset her hair, that's all fine and dandy. Only thing is, you don't *have* to have straight hair in order to be glam. Glam can cover a variety of hot hairstyles, not just straight. I'm sure she knows that, but that's what she likes so....
 
But honestly ur right. I didnt know st8 hair was more glam. Lol Idk I love Taren and her bestie :look:....I do believe that straighter hair is easier to manage in terms of time taken to style and product etc. but if I go on vaycay I want every one to see my fro:lick:..I cant really comment too much cuz I am still transitioning
 
I read those comments and it just seems to be a whole bunch of comments about her not having to explain herself to "haters" and "natural nazis". Yet... I saw very few comments that would be "hater-like" or saying something about hating she straightened her hair... :look: I think that video just won an award for the most pointless video on youtube. :trophy:
 
I think she just worded it wrong. Also at times a rollerset may be easier upkeep for her then her gorgeous usual style. She looks glam either way but that video did more harm than good for her.

^^Exactly this. Most black women wear their hair straight, so I'm not sure how it's all of a sudden more "glamorous" to do so. To me, real glamor sets you apart from the masses...her straight hair is gorgeous, but so was mine when I had that good 18" Remy. It's a dime a dozen.

Yeah real pointless, glam is an opinion word... so so pointless.. that is youtube and youtube comments for you.
 
Hmmm...I was wondering why she who shall not be named wants to straighten her her now out the blue...after she talked so badly about it in one of her videos. Now I know smh. LOL that woman is a trip.

To be honest I love me some taren but I really love her with the curly hair. Wish it would have been Like an instructional video on how to manage ur curls in Cabo. But i understand it was a vacation for them. I love her two channels and she can work the he'll out of some lashes and pink Lipgloss, lol
 
Ok I am watching her video...
My DD does rollersets, wraps her hair for the day, the next morning her hair looks bouncy and beautiful sans heat.

When I go on vacation I usually rollerset my hair because it is easier to deal with. Last year I went to California and I spent 2 days with straight hair and once I hit the beach I just left my hair in a curly ponytail the other 4 days. So I can understand where she's coming from.

ETA: She put her personal life out there. The second she put that heat damage video up I just KNEW she was going to catch some heat (no pun intended) if she flatironed her hair ever again :grin:

i was kinda wondering about that:look:....... but i'm a rookie on natural styles so shrugs
 
1. I don't know why she felt like she need to explain. Its her head.
2. Natural hair does not automatically = unglamorous nor does straight hair automatically =glamorous.

Her hair looks nice, but common to me.
 
If you wet your hair everyday like Taren does, straight hair is easier when you're on vacay (especially if you know your hair isn't going to revert). This whole thing is funny. Someone left a comment on her page calling her an attention w**re...doing too much!
 
I don't think she said that only straight hair is glamorous. I think she was just saying that to make her curly hair look glamorous takes more work. Since her hair is straightened, she doesn't have to rewash it and redo it every day. She could go a whole week without doing anything to it.
 
I'm sorry but I heard her say on numerous occasions on multiple videos that twists, braids, braidouts, twistouts are "boring" and straight hair is glam. .It wasn't a slip of the tongue...
 
Yea i was kinda giving the side eye to that comment, but it's her hair, and her opinion. In my opinion my big hair is glam depending on the occasion. I love to rock my hair as big as possible when I go out, she likes her hair to be straight. Oh well. I don't see how a twist out braid out isn't glam. Twists, braids, I could see, unless you pin them up into something with cute accessories, but whatever. That straight hair is what's got her natural curls not behaving now.
 
Why not just get a straight weave? You can go swimming and she can grow out her damaged hair.

Seriously done having sympathy for this chick.

I don't like Taren. There I said it. Why the FRICK would you straighten your hair to hang out primarily on a beach!?! See I was one of those Black girls who got annoyed at chicks who didn't "want their hair wet" at the pool/beach. Get over yourself lady... "Glam" look eh? NO...you look like one of those stuck up brizzles at the pool... Her yt channel really isn't that helpful, its more of a "look at my hair" endeavor, forgive me but shes....with a hair type most AA woman don't have yet they make this chick a hair idol?! I love me some hair but not hers..:offrant:... 3 or so minutes of my life wasted!!!

Not to offend anyone...she just irks the hek out of me:peace_sm:
