I am truly interested in getting this since I planned to trim 1/4" every 4 months when I straighten. I am a self-trimmer, but I know that it is hard for me to see exactly how much I am trimming, particularly in the middle since my hair isn't all that long. I want to make sure I only do 1/4" and no more so I am really interested in this but am not too interested in spending $60. I saw this one online but am afraid of getting the counterfeit. Can anyone tell me if they have this one and their experience with it?

New Talavera Split Ender Cordless Split End Trimmer - eBay (item 270653507442 end time Nov-22-10 10:08:28 PST)

And there are only 4 so everyone better not buy them up before I get some responses! Lol. Or at least leave me with one!

I got that one from my sister it works fine for me :) but you can get that one at ROSS for cheap or A.J wright :) if not I can ask one of the sisters can she pick on up for you and you cover the item plus shipping :yep:

Yea, this definitely looks like my Ross Split-Ender. I think the person on Ebay probably got it from Ross, because it's the exact same one. I'm sooo dying to use it.

Yeah, I have this one that I got from Ross for $9.99. I also have the one that came with the silk beads. I think that one was called MaxiSplitender for $60.00.

they are exactly the same, the new ones are different. but they work, they should have the Professional one out soon but for something I am using once in a blue the one from Ross/AJ Wright works fine :yep: I did send her out and email with your user ID and asked her to get back to you. Give her tomorrow if no response in good time hit me up again and I will follow up. Just don't want no one to get upset about me leaking information but that price is whack! for the Cheaper version :nono:

I want me a splitender sooo bad.....
I remember someone posted a thread about how they could be found at ross and the contents of the thread scared the :censored: outta me o.O
See for yourself also check out the Disclaimerthat was posted in it as well......

No this one says talavera though that one says magic something this is the same guy, it is the older model yes but it definitely is Talavera same company :) not the Knock off,

Great post though D.Lisha I probably would have bought it too not noticing a difference. :nono:

^^^Yeah, the manufacturer is the correct one. I recently got one in pink. It really does do a good job, imo. I even ran it through my sister's (color treated-armpit length-natural) hair & she couldn't get over how smooth her hair felt AND held out an entire week post a Domi-blowout. Usually she'd be rocking a poofy-fuzzy pony by this time. I hope you find you like it as well. :)

@GJIna
That sounds fantastic! I need to feel like that after I straighten my hair next month! Lol.

ETA: How many times did you run over your sister's hair per section (if you remember)?

^^ Dang!
Did you ever use it?

I used it once and it did fine. Then out of the blue I saw a thread here about the Split Ender. I got to reading and I pulled out my box, and it was the exact same box as that auction. Someone posted pics of the bootleg version and what to look for and I realized I bought a bootleg. I think I got mine from either Ebay or Amazon. I haven't used it since April when I first got it.

Just to clarify, I did this on straightened hair, so this was about 2 days after the Dominican blow out. I ran over each part of her hair 2x (same as mine). Her ends near the back are notoriously rough, so I rand over those sections 4x but concentrated on the ends for 2 of the passes. Because her ends were so rough (she hasn't had a clip in 6+ mths) & she hardly protects the ends, by a week's time and some humidity she'd have a little bushy fox tail going on, lol. The change of weather may be a factor, but her pony & her front edges still look & feel smooth (and it DID rain multiple times but survived). I think it's a pretty neat tool if you don't want whole inches hacked off.

NO I was saying looking at the knock off i would have not noticed it looks like the previous version of Talavera Model SPlitender, but this one is called the Magic Trimmer or something so I was like that is it. BUt looked closer.

My sister gave me Talavera Split Ender, :D

Oh yeah, I knew it had to be straightened. I was just wondering how many times. The ends in my crown are pretty rough so I'll probably have to do it 3-4 times also. And I'm uber excited about the bushy thing because mine does that too! I definitely need this in my life!
