Ladies of LHCF:
I come to you all today..with my very first RANT thread!
Here goes:
So there's this chick on my job right? She's is very short (MAYBE 5'0...IF that?) and plus-sized. She dresses well and keeps here lil a$$ looking top notch. But that's not what bothers me....what gets to me is...HER HAIR!!!
Like man....idk if it's because she's so short....or what!
But this chick's hair comes maybe BSL or alil below that on her lil body.
I NEVER see her BUN
I NEVER see her ends tucked in
I HIGHLY doubt she's taking any vitamins
AND she has her ENDS colored...
I REPEAT..her ENDS ARE COLORED!
THE OLDEST PART OF HER HAIR IS COLORED YALL!
Like man! ugh!!!!
It just eats me alive at how she effortlessly wears her hair out...on THE DAILY
Oh and best believe she has her ish, looking SALON fresh too!
I've even seen her wear one of those hard up-do styles then wear it back down like a week later
Her hair STILL looked as lush as ever!
She had aboslutely NO split ends...and her ish looks like japanese SILK I tell you!
Now from what I see, i'd say she's 100% African American..I could be wrong.
But yall...like.......it just eat's me up at how this chick can walk around with her BSLish hair all flawless and hanging down...while I gotta walk around looking all "8 weeks post relaxer" lol...
My NG making my hair all puffy...giving me that unsightly "halo" effect while in a bun
*sigh*
It's not fair! lol

Like..i'm not going to lie...i'm hating on this chick!
....Ok...rant officially over
Anyone have a similar story like mine? Don't have me here feeling like a whiiny nut.case all by myself lol.

:lachen: :lachen: :lachen:

You're not the only one. My cousin is the same way. Her hair is always beautiful no matter what.

Why don't you ask her for some tips? She may have the secret we're all looking for.... :)

let it out girl let it out

This is my daughter's hair.

She's tailbone
No protective styling
No split ends
All products work on her
She wears her hair in a ponytail or down almost every day
No deep conditioning for an hour under the steamer. NOTHING.

Makes me so mad. I MADE this kid, why can't I have indestructible hair? LMAO

Is the girl open to sharing her product routine? Maybe you should just talk to her about it, she might give you some good info.

Ita, if she's the type of person that wouldn't mind sharing knowledge.

Are you sure it's not a great weave? She sounds like a lucky duck.... I would talk to her. Me and all of the black girls at my job trade hair secrets.

^^ yeah, i worked with a lady once, thought her hair was gorgeous and bsl. later learned that she added tracks for length.

ITA ask her what she's doing maybe we can all benefit from it lol, or maybe she put in tracks.
thanks to reading this I just realized I forgot to take my vitamins today.

There's this girl at my job like that. When I asked her how she got her hair so long she told me it took her 21 years to get her hair that long. Her mother was a "stylist" and she always practiced on her hair which would break her hair right off (exactly why I can't mess with these stylists. Can't even trust yo mama!).

Since she went off to school and hasn't had anything done to her hair but touch ups her hair has had 5 years to grow free of harm.

Some people just have it like that. lol

I have friends that seem to grow with minimal effort and zero protective styling too. We're all unique, the same way some people can eat anything and everything under the sun and stay slim. It's life! lol

I'm right there with you!!!! It happens.... there's always the skinny girl who eats fast food everyday, never works out, and yet she's still skinny. C'est la vie. My hair reacts to every abuse, so I can't follow another person's remedy if I know it won't work for me.

yeaa i think you should ask her if its a weave

theres this one girl in my intro to chemistry class who [i thought] had long luscious tailbone length hair that ive been secretly eyeing all semester.Yesterday i finally went up to her and was like "i know this is random but i absolutley love your hair its soo long&pretty" then she looked at me like i was psycho and was like "uhmm...im wearing a weave."
you dont even understand how dissapointed i was when she told me that.sigh.lol.all that time i spent in class just admiring her hair went to waste.

&& I agree with you ladies....Idk y, but for some reason..I was always scared to approach her on the subject of hair. :ohwell:
I will make sure I do that tomorrow though..and I will most definitely give yall an update as to what she says.
And if it all turns out to be a weave...imma be sooooooooo bummed! (but grateful on the inside alil )

lol you're so not alone! Tell me why i was downtown this past weekend and all of a sudden everyone had CBL+ hair, full and lush  i was OH SO JEALOUS!!! There i was with a wig on :look: while all these chicks were looking correct...man, was i mad. I just want this damn hair to grow already so *i* can make bishes jealous with my hiplength hair

^^gurl I sooooooooo feel where you're coming from!
smh...we will get our time one day or another! lol

lol BostonMaria:
I gotta admit..you got me on that one!
But psh.....your hair is equally gorgeous! I wish I had some of YALL's genes....like seriously o.O

There's a girl like that in my geography class.
Her hair is a little longer than BSL, thick, and she wears it down every single day.
I don't envy her...it's a bit of a waste of energy, and that's not something I can spare nowadays. Plus I actually like my new growth halo and the little waves. I think they're cute.

But I am confused as hell. She wears it out every single day, rain or shine, with nary a split end in sight. If she does anything different with it, she does a low ponytail. It looks natural enough to be hers, but it always has this perfect, uniform wave, so it might be a weave.
But anyway, yeah...I kind of feel your pain, girl.

I'm still gulping my hate-her-aid and I'm going to choke out that it's a weave cause she only has a sneeze worth of hair, or you need to check her forehead for roundness because it's a dang lace front!

Ok, now that I'm rational again, Boston Maria when I saw your daughter's hair I thought of my sister. She does nothing to her hair except wear a braid or ponytail and she just cut it back from HL to WL because she thought it was wrong to be able to tuck it into her pockets. Did I mention that her hair grows so quickly she can donate to Locks of Love every 18 months? I love my sister, I love my sister....

LOL Don't feel bad. My sister has flawless skin and I always tell her I'm jealous of it. When she eats greasy foods and/or chocolate, her skin still remains to glow. Now, when I eat greasy foods and/or chocolate, my face starts to look like a Nestles Crunch... :lachen:

BTW I could never understand how black women wear those crunchy hairstyles for 14 days straight and it STILL looks flawless.

This!
Like honestly...how can u sleep on those hard up--do's without ****** it up? lol.
Not I! I'm too much of a wild sleeper for that o.O

I was have been feeling this way about myself recently. After being on this site and noticing so many rituals and etc it made me feel bad bc I never did them and still retained length my whole life. I wear my hair down daily, and never really did anything special to maintain the length. Before this site I never even knew about moisturizing and sealing(still trying to grasp it) and much more. My life consists of simply washing and conditioning my hair, and then flat ironing it with oil sheen weekly. It makes me feel guilty that my routine is so simple yet my hair has always been long...idk.

Why in the world would you feel bad about that?
That's something many women on this board would LOVE to have, which I'm sure you already knew.
