I cant (never tried) but my stylist can lol If she can do it I'm sure I can too!

OH yeah, Brittany's hair had alot of swang in her last video but we know she's heat trained. But it was really pretty and more silkier than normal.

I can, and without heat damage. But when I tell people I use a lil heat protectant with the tiniest bit of Crisco shortening to get it that way, they tend to give me the side-eye.

GIRL AND I WAS GONNA DEEP CONDITION WITH CRISCO AND THEN I CHANGED MY MIND!.... i probably should have did it anyway

yep use very little of some very good product, turn your flat iron all the way up to the highest settings, use tiny sections and implement the comb chase method with a fine toothed comb.

That blow drier is thebomb.com. I personally would not want both the marcel & plug in flat iron used on my hair. Her hair looks fierce though.

I blow dry with a standard heat protectant, and then I apply a tiny dab of Crisco to each section just before I flat-iron it. My flat-irons come out silky and last for 1-2 weeks. (I do this to my 12 yo DD's natural 4a-4b hair, and my 14 yo DD's 1-year post transitioning hair, and I set the temp at 325-375).
both girls get full reversion on wash day.

BlackMasterPiece what temp do you flat iron on? i keep seeing people say something in the 200s and 300s and I feel like MY hair needs the 400s!! I'm gonna flat iron for Thanksgiving and I'm very skeptical about low temps.

Sorry OP lol just derailed and everything!

Nah these are some good questions! I plan to keep my hair flat ironed and straight all winter long and i need these tips

The KMS wax stick is the best. If they still make it...This high end salon I used to go to swore by that one.

I get great results like this. I usually do 400 degrees in small sections to achieve this look. Everyone seems to love the way my hair looked in my newest video but I just have a new camera and better picture quality. But, my hair is heat trained so it needs less heat. I use to need 450 degrees.

You use it after you're done - to smooth down your edges and fly aways. A little goes a long way though. You don't want to use too much or you will have some serious build up.

Yes, I can get those results (if not better) with a flat iron, and my hair stylist can too. I'm talking with the electric flat irons. I will never let anyone put 'the stove' flat iron on my hair. No way. No how. :nono:

I just want to know what blowdryer he is using. That thing seems powerful. Anybody know?

i know right! he barely trying and its just knockn all the texture out. I have an Andis thanks to BlackMasterPiece and i NEVER turn that think on hot. i always leave it on warm because thats hot enough! yes, i am afraid of heat damage

He said on youtube that the Blowdryer was Tyche 2000

ETA: I KNOW thats not this little 40 dollar blow dryer i see on amazon lol my stylist could get my hair pretty straight with a blow dryer but not THAT straight. And I've ALWAYS used the hottest settings on my blow dryer. My relaxed hair didnt even get that straight.

LaFemmeNaturelle Errr I turn my Amika up all the way, and I turn my MaxiGlide to 8 or 9.

MsLizziA It works, you just have to use minimal product, hair that is already stretched and detangled and the patience to do small section by small section.
