Can you get THESE results with a flat iron?

MsLizziA I always straighten with my FHI- Special Edition. so I guess I'd have to say ceramic, though I can tell you the major difference between the two. when I first got the Sedu my hair was too short for me to try to straighten with it, and now I'm in the habit of using the fhi so I never even think to straighten with any of the others... but since you asked I'm going to try it now! lol

It's really okay to use heat people.. really it is. You can do it without damaging your hair. Not everyone's hair who uses heat is damaged. I use heat regularly and my hair looks great. It's technique. I get mine this straight at home with my GHD's or FHI's. My stylist uses FHI and it's always "hair book" worthy when I leave. She uses a protectant and so do I. My ends aren't dry or damaged. I use quality products and pay attention to what my hair needs.

It just amazes me that people want to have long hair just to have it.. never to wear it out or look cute.. it's not that serious.. hair will grow... it's okay to flat iron or press once in a while .. or every week.. or whatever .. just make sure you keep your hair moisturized and conditioned.

Well said, fabulosity! My only thing is, flat ironing and press/curls remind me of a time when my hair never reached past a chewed up shoulder length. No doubt, my technique was whack and my ignorance about how to retain length was a big factor. I just feel that I'm finally getting the hang of this hair thing, my hair has never been this long EVER! So I definitely feel I gotta crawl before I walk, so to speak. In other words, not ready to play with the hot tools just yet LOL.

I think for most it isn't the fact that heat was used....it was how much of it was used. IMO it wasn't all necessary to get those results and some of the steps could've been skipped or altered.

I'm not against heat but IMO...all the heat protectant in the world isn't going to protect your hair from 400+ degrees of heat. I don't put my faith in heat protectant's anyway because I don't feel they do anything to shield the hair from that amount of heat so you might as well not use any.

I can get my hair pretty straight but I learned is a matter of technique moreso than extreme heat usage. Her hair came out lovely and I really love the hair dryer he is using but that was to much heat on transitioning hair.

Her hair looked nice and I love the results but I got nervous seeing all that heat. I have used heat on my hair and seeing it done gives me a new perspective.

Also, she didn't even take off her leather jacket while getting her hair done. LOL

My mother was able to retain BSL and WL hair with pressing it often so, I think it is possible.
Her hair turned out so lovely.
PS. That model is super cute.
