I am so TIRED of bunning!!! ARRGGGG ...

I have been bunning since September. It really is getting annoying. So I know how you feel. But it does work.

Don't give up! I almost went crazy too when I joined the HYH challenge for six months last year. DH was about to go crazy right along with me! :spinning:

But the results, the RESULTS are so worth it! I wear my hair out two days a week now, but my flexi 8's and good day hair pins are still my best friends! :yep:

Ironically, I've been so busy, tired, and lazy (but not LHCF sinfully lazy) that I'm actually really liking bunning. I'm going to keep bunning and doing updos for the next few months.

Don't give up. Oh, what I wouldn't give to be able to bun again. *sigh* The grass is always greener ...

So nice to hear that it's worth it in the end. I guess I will keep on bunning :-/ lol

I hate it too and its only been two days. I usually can't go more than a week but I have learned a lot about hair and I am trying to bun until the end of the year and then see if I go to February.

Its boring. I want to whip my hair. I work in corporate/government and I don't feel like I have enough styling options without heat.

Alas, I am going to keep on pushing...this hear ole bun.

I can't wait to bun again too. I mean I kind of bun, but my hair is short at the top so I can't bun like I used too.

I hate bunning. I have a big nose and I just feel like it really sticks out when I wear a bun. lol DH loves it though and I've gotten compliments but I think it's just cause people were sick of seeing my dry hair and damaged ends. I just bought some head bands so hopefully they will make me feel cuter. I need to get some new jewelry too.

Nonie, thanks for the reminder because I'm also kinda tired of bunning but I'm gonna stick with it to ensure I obtain proper growth and retention.

I hardly ever bun. I only do it when I can't be bothered with my hair or have run out of hair product lol.

I feel you on the big nose. I have a big nose.

Your features look soft in your profile pic.

My nose is holding me back from claiming delicate features...but I have GROWN to be okay with it.

I've been bunning almost everyday since June. Talk about boring! My goal is to keep it up until Christmas.

I have been bunning like crazy for almost 3 years and I have been looking 17 when I'm not and feeling ugly and frustrated. LOL

I have hated it and my S.O. has hated it as well. He calls my bun "the artichoke".

Believe me: it's worth it. :-) Keep it up!

Girl....Go on and bun that hair up! Your ends and all those inches of growth retention will be thanking you later!

I used to hate bunning, but now I love it! I tried wet bunning and that chewed my ends up. Now I either do a blowout or flatiron, or I cowash and then just let it dry over the days. I haven't had a problem with mildew hair doing it the last way, but I make sure to take it down everyday.

I started a blog (because Fotki has cooties :look:) about wearing my hair in buns. I bun everyday, but I always have something in my hair, whether it's a flower, hair sticks, flexi 8s, hairzings.....there is always SOMETHING in my hair. I get tons of compliments on my hair toys and I think that kind of reinforces positive feelings about my buns. Plus I'm about 1/2 and inch from MBL all thanks to bunning!

question for all those who bun... this is my PS style allthough it does nothing for my edges which pop of all the time, i have to bun with the mesh donut because i dont have enough hair for a decent bun. i have recently been wrapping a stocking around the mesh bun so my hair would not snag on the mesh... do you think the sock is drying out my ends? also i secure the bun with a scrunchie... is that bad?

I love bunning! My only issue right now is that I want more length so I can do some different bun styles. I can't wait till I can do those lovely CelinaStarr and DLewis type buns :love4:

indarican If I use a donut bun I use a reglar sock covered in a silk sock. If the scrunchi is too tight it can cause damage. I have unitentional layers from wearing my scrunchi too tight around my bun :(

Wow, I can't believe this was brought back. I wrote this over two years ago and I no longer do any type of bunning. I mainly wear my hair in twist outs and I am still getting good results.

Maybe I should reconsider bunning or maybe not 'cause my new growth is outta control!

Wonders where i could get a silk sock from... as simple as it sounds i rarely see real silk anything in NY.

I'm not tired of buns, but my SO sure is!
They have been my main style for the past 4 months. I have 3 main buns that I do. I need to add some more to my repertoire.

I think that buns can be so lovely...Unfortunately, because my hair is so big and wild, I only get to utilize them as a protective style when i have straightened...Although, I did do a Southern Tease-type bun on my wet, natural hair...

Check the mens department of major department stores like macy's and nordstroms...they usually are mixed with the other dress socks.

HTH

@AfroKink, ^^got pics? I think I might've seen 'em or one, but my mind's a bit foggy. Care to help a poor memory?
I don't have any pics of my buns. I do the southerntease style, 1 I got from mandy4601, and a regular ole bun. I do them on stretched hair - usually rollersets

Are you ladies bunning 100 % of the time ?
Basically... I have a conservative day job and not a lot of time on my hands. I had a week off recently and I wore an afro every day.
