garlic shampoo and alter ego deep conditioner!
Good thread! I just went from BSL to APL bc of major shedding
Oh well, I believe mine is hormonal- hypothyroidism specifically. I've been having quite a few issues lately. As soon as I can get some blood work done at a low cost clinic, I hope to come up with a solution.
In the meantime- back to alter ego
okay this is a stupid questions but you an only increase the thinkness of new hair right? or can you increase the thinkness of strands lets say mid way down the lentgh of your hair? ive been applying caster oil to my temples and noticed thicker new growth but nothing for the hair that was already on my head. does that make sense or did i just confuse everyone else too?
IF HENNA makes one's hair thicker....i'm looking for henna next
my black tea rinses are helping... but i don't know why i'm still shedding even a little (more than normal)
perhaps my diet..... i can't be a long thin haired natural
is the black tea for thickness or reduction of shedding?
I use to shed bad. I believe the cause was from only using protein. I was still a newbie with natural hair. I used cantu shampoo and leave in and then bb mayonaise and honey for moisture. DUMBEST THING I COULD HAVE DONE.
I had it again this year because of the denman. So it took a little babying with protein and moisture balancing.
As for thickness, I understand most of us believe grease is bad but when I used dax lanolin I had growth and thickness. I've always had thick hair until around my third year of being natural I noticed a thinner texture especially in my crown. I think it's from scractching to hard and using selsun blue consistently without following with a moisturizing shampoo. So now I stay away from sls mostly and drugstore anti dandruff brands. Also I think ketaconozole caused a lot of it which is odd because it has the opposite effect in men. Anyway I do want my thickness back and I hope and pray to regain it.
Well, I've never had shedding issues, so I don't know about that one.
But, I used to have thin, overprocessed, see-through ends when I relaxed my hair bone-straight...texlaxing cured that.![]()
Black Tea rinses
I've been falling off lately and I'll be darned... but I do see more hair in the comb!
I'm gonna stop being lazy and start doing them again![]()

My siggy is also from my reg. henna usage days. I plan on going back to reg. use. It's so hard though to find henna plus (i only used one box of this but i wish i would've bought every box on the shelf that day +) But for the most part i just used ancient formula w/ skikakai, henna and amla pwdrs. I would add extra amla or some other easy to get powder in too. My usually fine, flyaway, and barely there "feeling" hair had among other things weight & shine.
