they are completely different hair types also. can't compare their practices

I understand what you are saying, but from my understanding, just because 'your' hair is far from equal to 'mine' in terms of texture/type it doesn't mean that we can't benefit or even suffer from the same techniques and practices.:yep::yep:

I am subscribed to both and i have noticed that they, in their own ways, practice low manipulation and Leobody mentioned that she uses heat at least 50% of the time which is similar to Ateyaa who does every two weeks or so.

I am 4a with a bit of 3-something but i watch and take advice from lovely youtube ladies ranging from 3a to 4b:grin::grin::grin:

Wasn't another Ateya thread made a while ago? I would say around a week ago, more or less. What's the need for another one so soon JUST because she flat ironed her hair?
The point of the video was to review the irons so that people can buy them if they liked the performance, nothing else. I would think the best way to TRULY review these irons is with minimal to no product since you get the best results that way. :ohwell: She did add a few points here and there about heat protectants and needing a trim but the video was MAINLY about reviewing the irons and NOT about health, growth, or retention concerning hair.
I swear I start to wonder if these threads get created and gain popularity JUST to bash Ateya because of some sort of hatred for her only because of her practices. If I'm right that people are hating on her for that reason ALONE then it's a pretty sad day for LHCF to cause this much commotion over what Ateya is doing to HER hair. Everyone is making her seem like some sort of Hollywood celebrity. Her makeup videos are really good if we all just get over the obsession of what she's doing with her hair for a sec. :look:

She might not have waist length hair like some of you, but at the end of the day she's the one getting PAID to show her techniques. Go 'head Ateya :yep:

She isn't from Houston, however. She's from Beaumont, which is a COMPLETELY different animal. :look:

No, I didn't think she was FROM Houston, I just know she lives here. I also know a lot of people from Beaumont and they....actually...nevermind, they are kinda country. :lachen:

Some of you go so hard on poor Ateeya.

I don't use heat protectant and I could care less who likes it or not.

I dont see the big deal. Even if I don't agree with her, I don't see the point in coming in and making terrible comments in her youtube channel.

As for the heat protectant, it's not like she's saying no one has to use any, she just says that she doesn't use it. A lot of people hate using heat protectant. I wont be one of them, but I can't knock anyone who does.

No, she doesn't have waist length hair, but is that even her goal?

^ You're right, she never stated that she wanted super long or super thick hair. So I don't understand how people can bash her progress -- like how&why do you have expectations on someone ELSE'S hair growth? :lachen:

She has found what works for her to keep her hair on her head. Isn't that what the hair journey is all about?!

Most people don't use a heat protectant. Some have actually said that their hair feels hotter to the touch when they do use it.

The people who get the swinging/bouncing flat irons state the less product the better.

I think having really conditioned/moisturized hair prior to the flat iron is key to not needing the heat protectant.

Our own Dlewis has stated that she doesn't use a heat protectant either.

My last two flat iron hair styles have been done with minimal product and the results have been better honestly.

Yes I agree, I don't always use heat protectants

I do use a heat protectant, but I straighten like twice a year, so my opinion is like my bootay hole :-P

I have never understood why relax, then flat iron---I used to rationalize, well my hair isn't "bone" straight relaxed, the curl pattern is just softened--so I need to flat iron it for super straight hair. Now when I look back I realize how ridiculous I was being. Ateyaa's hair is pin straight as is.

If she was concerned with retention, she would rollerset instead. She clearly likes her hair at the current length, so kudos for her.
I love Ateyaa...thin hair and all!

For all the thin hair comments, let's call out every lady here that has thin hair too.

What about the ladies with scraggly ends. They need a thread too. Let's call them out.

How about the ladies who don't always use proper grammar when they type or speak? We're on a roll right? We need to call them out too!!!!

Seriously. Let's stop the stupid stuff and get back to growing healthy hair.

I've been a subscriber of Ateya's You Tube for a while now. She's definitely doing her thing and what works for her. :)
