This thread is for EVERYBODY, whether you are scalp length, ear-length, or thigh length. Whether you have reached your goals or not:

What are 3 things that you learned that you think is important to getting long/healthy hair? ONLY 3, and don't cheat! It can be something that others don't believe in that you do, it doesn't have to be so general.

Me first,

1. Protein treatments is a must!

2. Using quality products, no watered or mineraled down stuff for me

3. And now I am just now learning after 6 mos in my lhc journey,:look: no heat/manipulation can be a very good thing!

Who's next?

*I'm sorry y'all, I'm up here laughing at how Sylver got a NTM leave in plug in her post....*

Okay let me contribute

*minimal manipulation/combing
*stretching relaxer
*caring for ends (As Adrienne said, it's not how much you grow, it's how much you keep...)

1. Stretching Relaxers (to gain strength)
2. No combing (cuts down on loss)
3. A Good Multi-Vitamin (In order to take care of the outside you must first take care of the inside.

Great thread!

2. vitamins or simply healthy eating(i believe what you put in your body is very important)
3. satin pillow cases

I want to extend this list... but that would be "cheating"

Great thread...I'll be watching this one closely!

-Moisture/Protein...Very important for keeping hair on your head.

-Stretching relaxers...saves my hair and my money!!

-Protective styles...especially important when hair is shoulder length!!

THE BIG NUMBER ONE stretching relaxers

2. protective style/baggie method

3. Deep condition and keep your hair with moisture

Washing or co-washing- water must hit my scalp at least once a week ;)

Airdrying

Moisture

1. Protein & Moisture (I used to think my hair just needed moisture, and always had a lot of shedding/breakage)

2. Using Oil (Hot Oil treaments, leave-ins)

3. Stretching relaxers

Thank you ladies!!! I'm so glad I found this site! :yep:

frequent poos/con washes: once a week while in a protective style such as the crown and glory method, every three days when not.

moisturizing my dry *** scalp

not using any heat to dry or straighten (i think using heat for deep conditioning is fine, though)

there are a few more but these are the three i do consistently.
