Wow this is an old thread! If you notice at the very bottom of the web page article, this is sponsored by TYPE F! Enough said!

When we were little my mom used a dish washing liquid on our hair when we had no shampoo.:ohwell: It has the same ingredients as shampoo. IMO, she is washing the hair too much and using too much other stuff. Look at the ingredients in Dawn. It is mostly a high sulfate shampoo, for the most part. Nothing in it will damage the hair more than a sulfate laden shampoo. I still would not take her advice, but it is nothing horribly wrong about using Dawn on the hair. Ya'll use Crisco, horse shampoo, coochie cream, and all other things on your hair. Dawn is not as toxic as some of the stuff I have used. MTG makes Dawn look like a conditioner.:lachen:

okay so i am late on this one but............what they world? is she crazy? don't even look at her it might be catchy.lol

The olive oil stuff yes, the dish detergent as a shampoo NO. I think that she probably means well but doesn't know what she's talking about. Maybe Dawn is the reason why her hair looks like that.

I like the feel of olive oil in my hair. I pre-poo with it and rinse it out by co-washing.

On first glance she looks a little like Queen Latifah.

I would not listen to her at all. Dawn?? I don't even wash my dishes with that crap, why would I use that on my hair? Her hair looks a HAM to boot...

Just to put things in perspective...

They use Dawn to get crude oil off of marine animals after oil spills.

So, in answering the OP's question... not a flucking chance!

Dawn:blush:, why is she even writting an article about how to get olive oil out of hair anyway, are hair needs moisture, if its too greasy then rinse your hair with water or do a light shampoo:look:

my thoughts exactly.. most ppl who are putting evo in their hair do it intentionally :perplexed

I'm confused. When you click on the link of who wrote the article, a white lady's picture shows up.

I'm thinking the picture of the black girl is because she posted a link to that article, not that she wrote the article.

What in the hayl type of conspiracy is going on??? I'm gonna start looking for that Logo on everything now so I can steer clear of it. And they gonna try to put it at the bottom real small too. They aint ****.

I made a comment a while back on a similar article, not sure if this is it, I'm on my phone and didn't see comments (my name is Rasheena IRL if you see it)

OT
My aunt, who was heavily into alternative healing, once told me to use a mixture of Dawn and baking soda on the face for acne. I didn't do it consistently enough to see a difference in the acne but my skin was very soft.

I read the whole thing thats dawn, alot of shampoos, baking soda (also cleanses), powder, and another shampoo? How is her hair still on her head? Thats going through alot of stripping to get out 1 oil.
