synthetic oils to combat dry hair

I actually have gone back to silicone because I find it prevents my strands from tangling better than just oils alone. I mix my bootleg Sabino, shea butter, and Crisco and it is great at sealing and preventing tangles. It felt weird admitting it because we are so anti-cones but it is working for me.

I don't use cones often because of what they do to my scalp (I itch pretty bad) and some tend to leave my grass dry and crunchy feeling if not sealed with castor oil. Not all cones are created equal. There are some conditioners that I can use without a problem, while others have actually caused chemical burns. In the end you just have to do what works for you.
