Nawwwwww, man. I would not let anyone cut or relax my hair just for a TV show. I guess that means I won't be going on any makeover shows any time soon, eh?

HELLZ NAW.......I WOULD NOT LET THEM CUT IT or dye it. Did ya'll see what happen to that asians' lady hair on AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL on this season....they lighten her hair like 50x's ligher and it ended up falling out.
They ended up having to put a partial weave in her head that was the exact same length as her own hair.

Oh Lawd, not in the name of a make-over is that worth the pain.

hell no! they get to see me what, how many hours of a day? i have to live with my hair no thank you!!!! im happy with my hair

Girl, I was so pissed for Shenna. I was looking at her hair on the floor and in the sink and I was like, "Awh hell nawh!"

I would let them cut my hair, if I knew that they knew what they were doing. They don't always have to cut all your hair off for a makeover, they can do what the poll says and lighting it or darken it, add higlights. There are so many things that you can do with hair other than chop it all off. I will say this though, not everyone looks good with long hair and maybe a cut will open your eyes to a different look that you might embrace...so short hair is not the devil...lol

No way. I'd let them add weave and have their merry way with that--especially if it's in the same vein as a Tyra makeover, but they will not have a free-for-all in my natural hair.

after oprah, tyra and the 100's of other makeover shows... i've always noticed (as its also mentioned here often) that women with long hair often have their hair hacked off to achieve a new look.

I can understand making the ends neat, or adding layers, but most women's hair go (if they have it like that) from BLS or longer to shoulder length or shorter. A lot of times, it looks really nice, but all i can think of when i see it is... man... all that progress gone in seconds. and... couldn't they just worked around it? made the long hair "work"? i dont know...

sooo...

would you let your your hair be cut (more than 4 inches), relaxed (if your natural), lightened (more than 3 shades than your natural color) or any other dramatic process for a new look?

Gurl NO!! No freakin way!!

I want my hair to rest on my shoulders in its natural, shrunken state. This will take maybe another two years to do. I'm not cutting it anymore, just lite dusting to get rid of the scragglies. NO ONE IS CUTTING MY HAIR ANYMORE. Everytime I get it trimmed it seems my hair shrinks even further into itself.

My hair is off-limits. If they want to add pieces or wigs then I'm down for that, but they will NOT touch my real hair.

I will LIGHTEN my hair though. I've been wanting to dye it for awhile, but due to budget constraints (because I would need touchups) I have to put it on hold.

I would, but they and I have to be certain it is a look that becomes me! Hey, I am always up for becoming hairstyles!

I sure wouldn't. Not unless that make included some dinero to pay my house off. They can straighten it (not permanently) and style it but they ain't cutting an inch. Q

As long as it complimented the shape of my face and the rest of my features. Long hair doesn't compliment everyone, and I would rather have a hairstyle that works me for... I guess I'm lucky that long hair works for me lol

I don't know if this is OT or not, but it really trips me out when I see these makeover shows where women have these long, lustrious & healthy locks and some random hairstylists comes along like Edward Scissorhands and chops it all off:nono::nono: could.not.be.me. They would run me off the stage.

You can do so much more with long hair - it's actually quite versatile and you would have to exercise your creative juices on me WITHOUT using the scissors for anything more than a trim.

When I was younger, I had a chop it all of moment but I won't ever do that again. It only takes a few seconds to chop it off and so much longer to grow it back.

No I Wouldn't let them drastically cut or relax my hair. Especially if it is a bob. I had a bob for three years and it was murder on my hair. I had to straighten it everyday, just so it would lay right.

They would have to give me a low care hair style, where I could accheive the look with out going to the salon.

Pfffftttt

NO.

Cut my hair? For what? A makeover? To look different? I look different with eyeliner.

No thanks.

NOPE. :lachen:

If they want to give me a short weave or lace front, then we can work with that. I don't mind anything temporary. But it's too hard to grow long, healthy hair for someone to come along and hack it off on a whim. And I look really really ugly with short hair. That is a fact.
I wish some fool would come at me with a pair of scissors, talking some...let me make you over. If you want to do that, then the makeup is right over there. Nooo scissors necessary. :nono2:

I would cut it for sure! But I wouldn't let them dye it or relax it. That's where I draw the line.

They can work with what I have! ORRRR do a DUSTING to get rid of split ends. But my goal is to GROW my hair back out and even longer, they would notttt be settin me back lol :ohwell:

No I wouldn't let them hack it off. Whats funny about it is they always go the opposite of what you were so if you already have short hair they are usually quick to put in a weave and cut if you are already long. If they can't give me a makeover using the hair I have without cutting then it ain't happnin

NOPE! But they can put me in a weave or a full head weave and cut and color that whichever way they please. My hair will only be trimmed and only when absolutely necessary. If I wanna try an edgy new short look, thats what weaves are for......even tho I never wear weaves but just for arguments sake....

They can add all the weave they want....and trim, just a LITTLE. :look:

no cutting and definitely no lightening! :nono:

Hell 2 the naw! Nope they ain't cuttin sh*t. I don't care if it was Oprah's Andre...Nor would I color. Relaxer+Color= breakage for me...:nono:

I could use a makeover, I know fully well that I don't have the best fashion sense and I'll be the first to defer to someone who knows better about those sorts of things, but not about my hair. Nothing permanent. My hair isn't damaged, it doesn't need cutting, it doesn't need chemicals. And those stylists earn a lot of money of money on those shows. They get off too easy when women allow them to chop everything off. I'd be determined to make them earn that money. If they can't handle waist length hair every so often, then they need to find someone who does.

^^^^ Yes, on one of those Bravo shows, they couldn't cut a strand and everyone was WL-calf elngth. They had to WORK! LOL These days, few stylists know much about long hair. There are a few stylists/salons that specialize in it tho.

They would have too work with what I have. They can style my hair in away that I have not worn it to give me a new look. I would not let anyone ruin my hard work.
