Can someone explain why that is like the best wash in the whole world? It's like I FINALLY get to really comb through, all of thelittle burn scabs lift off, and I can scratch thru. It was amazing like the hold herbal essence commercials where the lady is screaming yes!! yes!! my scalp is like aahhh.

Burn scabs?

yes girl!!

I'm jealous of all the silk elements users who do not get a burn or tingle. I ALWAYS burn w/ lye relaxers and I based and put in this bio-kur stuff and was under 17 minutes and I still burned. Im just very hypersensitive I guess. I used regular, next time I will use mild, If that doesn't do it I'm switching to no l-ye.

I first thought you meant washing right after relaxing. That wash feels soooo good after not scratching the scalp the day before.

(And why does the scalp itch so much before the relaxer...that's my question. )

I don't get burns or scabs with lye relaxers (Motions or Revlon in the past), but then again my hair isn't bone-straight.

Are you scratching your head within the week of doing your relaxer? If not then maybe you should concentrate on the application itself...I know it's impossible not to get some on the scalp, but for the most part you should only apply to the hair itself...avoiding the scalp. I used to burn too, but once I stopped scratching and made sure the application was correct along with heavy base...I no longer get scabs. That's with lye. HTH.

To answer your question...I enjoy the wash immediately after rinsing out the relaxer better than anything else because I finally get to touch my scalp and rubba a dub dub to my hearts content.

girl I tried to avoid the scalp like the plague - even did minimal relax time on the nape/ back area, and I did not scratch although it did want to itch like i was on crack the day before and I based well. I still burned and it's not Bone straight.

But that immediat rinse/ wash after the relaxer is good to I just can't enjoy because I'm tingling/ burning and usually have a headache during that time.

Aww man...it sounds like the lye no-likey you. It IS uncomfortable when your head is ablaze trying to wash out the relaxer thoroughly and be gentle at the same time. I hope you find something that works for you, without the irritation.

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO FELT THIS WAY! HAHAHAHA...well, I always assumed it was because at salons the stylist put so much crap in your hair and it feels good to first off wash that junk out and put your own products in, also i think it feels good because you can personally evaluate your hair length and see how far you've come from the last relaxing...

and so far as the comb through...its practically orgasmic... hahaha but ahh well i'm natural now!
