Why Did The Contents Of My 30oz MMP Tub Fit In My 22.5oz Suave Bottle?

After reading a thread here about hair products and contamination, I dedided to fit as much of my brand new, 30oz tub of Motions Moisture Plus as I could into an empty, washed Suave Conditioner family size bottle.

I spooned it in by the teaspoon full. I wasn't expecting it all to fit. But it did.

  I don't know but I'm mad on your behalf. Sounds like serious case of shortchange. I bet this happens more than we think

Contents may settle during shipping. It happened because when the 33 oz tub was filled with a machine, there was air inside of the product. It settled during shipping - meaning all of the air pocketds and bubbles were gone, thus making the contents less because those 33 oz included the air.

It's a bummer and it sucks when you're spending so much for products, but think of it like potato chips. :look:

Yeah, but, I can still eat the broken chips. At least I got it on sale and it's all protected in the bottle. Hubby doesn't know I bought something else either. :sekret:

Thanks for commiserating with me ladies.

exactly. good analogy too!

Plus MMP is a very thick product. The weight of it is heavier than most of the Suave conditioners I have ever seen. Or am I thinking the other way around?

33 ounces of a solid thing takes up a different volume than 33 fluid ounces. Check to see if the suave bottle was measured in fluid ounces. If the MMP is weighed in pounds, it will have a different volume than if it could be measured in fluid ounces.

If all the manufacturers went metric, stuff like this wouldn't happen!
