I just wondered there is so much emphasis on new regimes, new products for 2006.
But what about those ladies who are leaving us or not going visit so often.
Maybe you have reached your goals or maybe you have just had enough of the whole hair thing.

Why are you leaving?

Do you feel you got the support from here?

Did you reach your goal(s)?

Do you now have other more important commitments?

Plaese Share :swearing: :arguing:

I doubt that many are going to leave, this site is addictive:lol:. Every time I try to leave, I somehow get pulled back in.

Say that!!

I've learned so much about caring for my hair, products and just making friends, I'll be around for a while!

I probably won't be around much...since I'm moving to a new home, in January and making other important changes in my life. I feel i have had immense support from everyone here, its been a great experience. My ultimate goal is to return natural and grow it to at least bra-strap. I would stop by now and again though.

Den,

As long as you keep in touch with us all. I understand that sometimes other things are just more important.

Good luck with your move :computer: I know what a hassle it can be

*sigh* *sigh* This ain't nothing but the truth...

I'm just waiting on my posting ability to be pulled. As long as I can post I'll still continue to be pulled in here... :assimilat This place takes up so much of my time, especially at work! :sekret: I've been feeling so guility about not getting my work out on time or being able to concentrate.

As far as my goals being met...well...ulitmately they have....my first major and only goal was to learn how to obtain and maintain healthy hair and basically length will come......the support here is tremendous..all the advice has been so helpful to me...so many great ladies here....

However, I really need to concentrate on other more important issues in my life..

I'm not quitting persay, but I won't be as involved as I used to be, because I have to focus on other engagements in real life :float: . But trust I will be lurking !! :)

I won't be visiting as much anymore.

Lot's of good things are going in my life... I am very very busy... and I'm also moving.

But the truth is I'm just tired of spending so much time focusing on my hair. 3 weeks ago I went to Reniece and got a touch up, after 22 weeks, and a 3.0" - 3.5" blunt cut (I'm not exaggerating) and was, and still am, happy I did it. Now it is thick, full and healthy. (Uber kudos to Reniece, the best!)

Honestly, I'm tired of reading posts and after 2 years doing my best AND alot of the stuff recommended here conditioner washings, braids, kinky twists, lots of conditioning, baggie, wet buns, bunning in general, and never wearing my hair down; only to watch my hair split and break, and having the get major cuts every time I past shoulder, I've had it.

I'm not going to go crazy, but I'm just going to enjoy my my hair. :)

sorry about this. ... :( i believe if I would have kept relaxing, this would have happened to me as well...

Enjoy that hair girl, it is yours. Usually, a watched pot never boils. Before you know it, you'll be dragging around brastrap hair and then you will have to update!!!!

Take care!

I will be around. I am not gonna give up until I reach my goals. I already reached a few. Now I am going for the gold!!!

I'll be around to lurk for a little while, but next year I'll be busy getting ready for my new role as wife and step-mommy, and I'm job-hunting right now so I won't have as much time as I used to.

You TOO???!!!! I have been working SO hard on my hair the last 3 months and it was doing SO GOOD - getting thicker, looking healthy... then BAM, the last 2 weeks has been nothing but breakage, and I am back to square one with the thin ends  ! Despite all the moisturizing, bunning, baggy, conditioning, protein/no-protein, satin scarves, etc. - Nothing I tried in the last two weeks is stopping the breakage!

So I just said "To hell with all this effort!". I had planned for 2006 to be my HAIR CARE YEAR, but I have seriously changed my mind. Because I have realized for me, hair is a really emotional issue.

Hey don't feel bad I been going through this for a long time. I came to LHCF because my hair was breaking. My hair was breaking before Lhcf and still breaking after Lhcf. I have to admit my hair is in much better shape then it's been in a long time. The breaking has slowed but I still see hair on a daily basis. I hear people on the board who has used protein treatments and the results were automatic. I do protein treatments and I still see breakage. After I get a relaxer in a week and half I will see how my hair thrives. I'm not discourage because anything worth having takes time.

Thanks onepraying!

Lucia, Why?:scratchch
The ladies here have been great, the encouragement and positive energy has really helped on those bad days.
 I'm not going to front like I won't ever come and lurk see but I think once I've gotten to my goal I can just come here for maintenance tips and share info every now and then. I think that when my hair was damged and breaking off I had to get "obbsessed" with haircare to save my hair and grow it out, now the regime and techniques are natural to me I just do them. most of my challenges will be done by 2006, 1 is just for fun to see if my hair will get that long.

There is no way I'm leaving this place! I have made some really nice friends here and the advice and support are invaluable. However, there probably will come a time when I won't post as much. But I'm definitely staying!:)

Does that mean you are ending your membership or you just won't be posting as much anymore? We'll miss u.

As for me, I have gotten great results and I figured for less than 10 cent a week, it is worth me to still come on. Plus, I still have some NC-LHCF meetings to keep going on  .

Not me. Loving my progress and the support and $5 is a cheap price to pay for membership.

I do plan on logging in and posting less so that I can concentrate on other things, but I know I will be here for another year.

GUYS don't leave- I JUST got here!!!

I'm not going anywhere, at least not until I reach shoulder-length, and that's at least a whole year away! I may slow down because I'm moving too, from Massachusetts to California, and I have two kids to get settled in, but like I said, I ain't going nowhere!

Okay, so this post has gotten me out of lurkdom for a hot minute.

Actually, as some may have noticed...I have not been frequenting the board as before. For the past two and a half years I was a big-time poster, and I've benefitted from the advice given.

However, I really feel like I am "evolving" or moving on. At one point I felt, as someone put it, addicted to the site. It's great---but it feels wonderful to not be so attached that I need to stay up until 1 p.m. posting and wating for responses. So, in that way I am liberated!

Also, I am learning to love the total package that is my beauty. I am a beautiful woman...and I feel that when I was "addicted" I would alter my opinion of myself when someone made a comment--whether complimentary or critical. I love looking at albums and giving sistahs their just dues, but I was starting to get competitive. (Sigh)

Anyway, I know that the hair is only a part of what makes me me. And taking a long haitus (except for the occasional lurking) has helped boost my desire to focus on what is already perfect about Mel rather than what needs to be improved upon or what will be in Dec. of 2006.

I'm not saying I'm quitting. I am forever devoted to proper hair care--thanks all. But you won't be hearing much from Mel for a while. Who knows I may come back strong in 2006 as a poster. But I thought I owed it to the friends I have here who may be wondering whazzup.

Much love to all of you guys and Merry Christmas and/or Happy holiday season to all y'all.

Me too! I've been able to post for months! I was suppose to take a mini break and focus on grad school but got sucked back in. I think I lasted 2 months LOL!

I will probably stick around until the end of Dec b/c I wanna finish my SGO challenge but then I will chill.

I think over time I became less concerned with my hair especially since I've reached my initial goal of bra strap over the summer. I've had the hair thing down for some time and now all I really do is just resist the temptation to try out new products-which I hate b/c I already know what works for my hair!

But yea like everyone else said this site is addictive and there are so many other things I could give 110% to other than hair/chatting.

Also when I took a mini break and didn't worry too much about my hair or see all these hair pictures my hair took off. So yea the old adage about never watching water boil or grass grow etc etc rings true.
