which Oil Makes Your Hair Its Softest?

I'm adding another hair oil to my regimen. I currently use coconut oil on my scalp and as a sealer. I just realized that I decrease its amount of usage when I have unmanageable new growth. EVCO does not make my hair soft, so I'd like to get some input from you ladies. I've used Amla hair oil before and loved it. I need to know though, does it contain mineral oil? please recommend any other oil that will soften my hair strands.

Castor oil. I don't use often because it's an heavy oil and it's kinda sticky... but it always makes my hair insanely SOFT :lick:

My mom knows how to make it. I've also used it before and it does make the hair soft. I just don't like the smell. :perplexed

Cisselette girl, this has nothing to do with this thread. The pic in your Siggy looks like arm pit hair. lol. It's cute mama! your curls are so well defined.

I know some amla is just mineral oil or cut with mineral oil and some is the actual stuff. Of course you can try to make your own oil from amla powder. I personally am in love with macadamia nut oil but I use it on top of a moisturiser/leave in or part of a dc. Castor oil I use in dc's as well and help soften my hair up more but everyone's is different. There's always olive oil as well but I feel that it makes my hair a bit too greasy and the smell doesn't suit my nose.

I bought Castor & Moringa Softening Serum from qhemetbiologics.com during a sale. I loved it, but couldn't justify paying $10 for 2.5 oz. So, I ordered 8 oz. Moringa oil from fromnaturewithlove.com during a sale and now mix JBCO with it and this leaves my hair so very soft.

:meditate: give me a few more minutes; I can pronounce that word.

I'm cosigning with the castor oil. I use a little bit of it to seal my hair before rollersetting, and my hair always comes out baby soft and moist. And it lasts a long time because it's so thick. I've been using the same 16oz bottle since September.

JBCO works well too, but the regular castor oil is cheaper for me and it smells a heck of a lot better.

Castor oil without a doubt. I don't use it every day (nor do I need to) as its heavy, but it leaves my hair beautifully soft.

I would have to go with castor oil and shea butter. Especially if you mix the two together, it makes your hair feel perfect (or atleast mine does).

Sweet Almond Oil...I've been mixing it w/ the Hydratherma Naturals Daily Moisturizing Growth Lotion & my hair has been very soft.

Sweet Almond Oil is great at removing makeup too.

Avocado oil. In order to feel its affects your hair should be naked or only have EVCO on it. I noticed this EVCO does not affect how the oil makes you hair feel.
You only need a little, because it is a heavy oil.

I use this one La Tourangelle

Definitely castor for me. It softens the best. It is a heavy oil, and I have fine hair but haven't run into any problems using it daily...I just can't be too heavy handed with it or my hair will be greasy.

I really want to try avocado oil, do you know how it compares to castor oil consistency wise?
