Mine too. The problems started in my teenage years when I thought I was a big woman and started to care for my hair myself ... Most of our mums were doing the right things mainly (canerows, low/no heat, leaving it alone)

Yes, yes, yes to all of that. I'll never forget the image of my mum's face when she returned home to find my friend relaxing my hair, she was fuming even though I was 15.

But I wanted to be just like all of the other girls so....

We used everything, seriously, every single one on the market. I wish my mother knew about using water underneath the grease. We would have had the long hair she had wanted for us.

Proline Hair Food- Coconut was my absolute favorite! It smelled just like coconut. I used to wash my hair every 6 months when I started doing my hair as a little 9 year old.

Green Dax, Pure lanolin Dax, blue Blue Magic, were at home staples as a child.

Had some of that Pink Oil up in the mix too. As I got older I leaned towards Sulphur 8 (the light one) and one light one by Elasta QP- I can't remember the same but it was a pinky/peachy colour.

I used curl wax and some sort of grease in a big jar with a black top when I started curling my hair at 12 and when I became an adult.

Add in a bowl of warm water with a Goody brush, that was pretty much my hair routine my momma used. I had extra thick and long hair too. Hmmm......

I didn't have long hair as a child. Combing and caring for my hair is a science! Lol my hair is/was coily and fine. Didn't hold styles, was very soft like cotton candy.

My mom used Dixie Peach on my hair and Dax on my sister. She said my hair was lighter than my sister. I now know she meant my hair had a finer texture than my sister.
