I haven't read any at all. Just been on websites Cathy howse and LHCF and lots of hair articles online.

  1. Hair Story: Untangling the Roots of Black Hair in America
  2. No Lye: The African American Woman's Guide To Natural Hair Care
  3. Hair Rules!: The Ultimate Hair-Care Guide for Women with Kinky, Curly, or Wavy Hair
  4. Textured Tresses: The Ultimate Guide to Maintaining and Styling Natural Hair
  5. The Black Woman's Guide to Beautiful Hair
  6. Good Hair: For Colored Girls Who've Considered Weaves When the Chemicals Became Too Ruff (read this back in '94, but re-read earlier this year after I went au naturale)
  7. Plaited Glory: For Colored Girls Who've Considered Braids, Locks, and Twists (which is really repeating everything from the first book, and only adds a little bit of new info)
  8. Going-natural: How to Fall in Love With Nappy Hair
  9. Black Hair: Art, Style, and Culture
The ones in bold are ones I own  because they were not available at my local library.
