Hey all,

I thought I'd start a thread of interesting hair care books. So far, I've read:

Natural Organic Hair and Skin Care: Including A to Z Guide to Natural and Synthetic Chemicals in Cosmetics by Aubrey Hampton (thank you for this suggestion many moons ago, @Chicoro )

George Michael's Secrets for Beautiful Hair by Dr. George Michael

Curly Girl: The Handbook by Lorraine Massey

The Science of Black Hair: A Comprehensive Guide to Textured Hair Care
by Audrey Davis-Sivasothy

What are some of your favourite hair care books either by stylists, cosmetic formulators, trichologists, hair coaches, enthusiasts, etc.?

  • Encyclopedia of Shampoo Ingredients by Anthony Hunting
  • Encyclopedia of Conditioning Ingredients by Anthony Hunting
  • Take Charge Beauty Book by Aubrey Hampton and Susan Hussey
  • Chemical and Physical Behavior of Human Hair by Clarence R. Robins

Here's a link to a thread I started 50-11 years ago about a similar question. Even though I'm no longer relaxed, I still value what I learned from the Beautiful Black Hair book by Shamboosie.

Hair Books That Helped The Most

Some of the books may be obsolete or updated versions changed some information.

I will be sure to look into the options you posted.

The link looks like an exercise link. I 'd love to see the books you listed that helped you. Do you have a different link?

Thanks for these suggestions ladies!
