I have the secodn one and i use it to press my hair once a week and it getsi it straighter than any relaxer i have every had and I am mostly 3c and it keeps the frizzies away for that week btw washes. It is good for getting the roots too.

No. I read about it here and then told some relatives about it. Hoping one of them would buy it and let me try it and compare at least once.
I fought the urge to buy the Superstar when it was $99. I'm interested in trying the Hai and Chi brands. The site on your link says the Superstar is plate-ED, not cermaic plates.
For $100+ I want real ceramic plates.

I did a search using Maury...now I'm up to speed on this product...Thanks!
I got the one from the mauri show about 3 months ago. I found it on ebay for around 90 or so. I LOVE it. I would also get the products for it, biosilk therapy. When you put the biosilk leave in and use the iron my 4a hair comes out soooo soft where it used to be really dry.
I had issues with the cost of it but it is def. worth it.
My daugher is away for the summer but she is looking forward to getting her hair straight.

That's why my hair did so well in the humidity yesterday! I thought it was the WGO since I never used it before. My ends got a little wispy..but that was it. I'm glad I found out about this before my reunion this weekend. I was worried about my hair frizzing saturday night.
Sweetcocoa...YES ceramic irons are supposed to help keep the hair straight in humidity.
I never believed it but from what everyone says it seems to be true.
The last time I ironed my hair I used all Aveda products.
the Universal Styling Cream to blow dry and the Anti-Humectant pomade on each section to iron.
My hair was so straight and 'light' not greased down and oily like when I use the Dudley's cream press. And it did not revert...but I was in dry a$$ Las Vegas desert heat...
I will have to try it when it humid out and report back
No will power what-so-ever, that's me when I'm on this board. I ordered the superstar curling iron. But get this, I won't even be able to really test it out until September - I'm in braids.
FYI Ladies--
If you order the Superstar from ceramicirons.com you can't return it and get your money back. If it's defective you can exchange it, but you can't get your money back just because you didn't like the iron.
into Sally's and purchase the Flat Iron (ceramic of course)... would I b able to use this Keracare Oil Rich Blow Dry Lotion on my hair beforehand? Or r u NOT supposed to put anything in your hair before you "press" it. And how straight would my hair actually come out?
So who uses the flat iron to press as opposed to the hot comb? I don't know how to use the hot comb on my hair without burning my scalp. I think I'm going to stop relaxing for a while. Can I get a good press (same as with a hot comb) with the flat iron? I have 4a/b type hair.

(I read this on the "Product Info" page.)

I purchased mine from the seller kbmill on ebay. According to him/her if I don't like it for any reason, I can return it and get my money back minus the cost of shipping. After shipping was added the total was $103
So in case anyone is interested in buying this online I think this is the safest bet
LOL Caramelhonee....are you a part of a PJ Challenge?...hmmmmm.
Question to all:
I was talking with a friend that shared with me something she caught wind of while on vacation. She said some man was telling her about using some type of curling iron with a special kind of cream or something that when used together it keeps your hair really nice for 2wks. Could this be about using a ceramic iron with some type of special product? Does anyone have any insight on this?
I used mine on my niece's hair last night(with some WGO...thanks Skegeesmb)...When I was done she was like I'm going to Sally's tomorrow! I told it it was no longer on sale...but she said that's okay..she still wants one.

Carmelhonee I recommend you use seomethig first. There is no way I will use the flat iron or any other type of heat with no product. I used WildGrowth Oil. I actually tried another product too but the ones I used WGO on came out the best. .
Sealing The Ends Method...Saran Wrap Method.... now Ceramic Flat Iron (complete method unknown)...is the outcome of all these method to help seal and/or condition hair. Do they have a common thread (figuratively speaking) that ties them all together?????

I want to buy 1 too, please tell me how many inches width do these flat irons have?
[/ QUOTE ]
The Jilbere ones have the 1" and 2 1/2" wide plates.

What size is better? I heard some say that if it's too wide its hard to do the roots properly. Please advise!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry about the late as heck response. I've heard that the smaller one is better for those with short hair or wanted to get the edges but I can't say. I'm trying to get the smaller to make an comparison. I'll let you know.
i was in sally's today and they aint got none of the ones u mentioned but had the ceramic tech one and a GHD or something lik that...she sed that afro hair cud only really be straightened with 210 degrees and over..is this true??
Ngaa, Sally's in the Uk doesn't normally stock products like in the US. I was disappointed when I went there. I've used the GHD iron (in a salon) its really good, but £90 is a lot of money. how much was it at Sally's? They say its the best out there, even better than Unil and Hai, so it must be good. I think I'll buy it, but not now, I need to budget for that 1!

I've been looking for more ceramic irons online, there are some good ones but still expensive. So I think I'll wait a little, besides I want to get braids soon. Where did you get your braids, was it in London?

If you look at the first post with the pics you'll see 2 different irons...the top one has no settings which is why I took it back. The bottm one has settings and I set it to the lightest one I can that will straighten my hair. They are both by Jilbere.
