i too voted for technique. I wish i could flat twist and cornrow with consistant results but one week my flat twist out is banging and the next week it looks rubbish. i know this comes with practice but i am just not getting any better.
I don't know if this is affecting my journey as i"m still pretty much 100% protective styling for now.

I voted knowledge because I've been experiencing breakage, little pieces of hair and I don't know what's causing it.

Technique is a second runner up because I have had no success with straightening my hair using a flatiron.

OP, you didn't put my problem in your poll: CONSISTENCY

I now know what my hair needs and what to do to retain, even how often, and I've found the products I need.

But I never do these things like I'm supposed to. My regimen is to cowash daily, spritz with aphogee, then hawaiian silky, etc. and keep my edges taken care of. Do I do it? Nope.

I'm ticked up with myself for not keeping up with what I'm supposed to be doing and I could surely kick my own butt,

I like this thread, though.
I agree 100%. That's my problem, consistency. It has always been my no.1 problem unfortunately.

Great Feedback Thanks Ladies::yep:

I wish I woulda' thought of: Consistency, Patience and some of the Others, But I just assumed Since we are All Here with Have the Dedication to Make it to Our Goals.

We Will All Get There: One Head at a Time.

Consistency, Patience and Technique. I get extremely lazy often and just leave my hair leading to breakage and HAM matting :/ Im also feeling antsy about reaching my goal length

I need to kick myself in the butt as well :D

You'd think so huh?:lachen:

Until you get a lil length and start thinking you're all that and fall off your reggie.
Don't fall victim.

Mine is Patience & Technique because starting from a Twa and wearing one for 6-9 months daily can become very very boring and can get frustrated, and if I knew how to do more styles I would be ok, plus when I see Texlaxed styles it makes me want to texlax, so I have a host of issues LOL!!

Sealing Ends!

Every since my favourite product was changed (the company added coconut oil), I can’t use it anymore. I haven’t found anything else that’s as good.

It would have to be technique. I can't cornrow, french braid, flat iron, or do a decent braidout. But I can do a mean bun! :lachen:

For me I would honestly have to say products. I say this for me before I was using the worng products that did not work for my hair which have caused me a major setback.

I said Technique. I don't really know how to do anything with my hair other than wear it in a hairband. I'm thinking of going to a stylist.

I have not had a moisturizer for my entire hair journey. I tried different ones, but none of them worked for me. I think I've found one now though.

I would have to choose knowledge because I cant seem to tell when my hair needsd clarifying or just moisture.:perplexed

I'm transitioning and not sure how to detangle? Or if it is even necessary? sorry if this is a repeated topic, but could anyone shed light on what they've done?

Finally!!..I have my moisture and protein balance down. I voted for technique. I still need to work on self relaxing, roller set, be more creative with protective styling. I'm tired of my phony bun.

I voted Technique... I haven't mastered how to get my curls defined and staying that way instead of turning into a poofball by the end of the day..

To use the words in the bible......My people are destroyed for lack of KNOWLEDGE.

I just did a big ole thread about protein because of some issues I am having with my hair.

I wish I knew how to dust my own ends.Other people claim they can (Oh well)
Happy Hair Growing!

I voted products, but its more like equipment. I need better dryers and a decent flat iron. I want a small mixer for my butters and creams too. I guess I'm also looking for the perfect humectant free moisturizer for the dry months and an inexpensive curling custard. (I really have to stop - this could go on forever I think.)
