Jesus, I Trust In You!
comb your hair after shampooing? I usually comb when I rinse out my deep conditioner (after adding my leave in) and when my hair fully dries. I tried combing only after my hair dried today with the hope of shedding less and instead got massive tangles. Someone put me up to this, so much for experimenting

. Seems I'm going to do my touch up this 9th week, before I undo all my effort of the past months.

well coz my hair is natural i get A LOT of tangles but less if i comb wen i have the cholesterol in ym ahair coz its a detangltin conditioner as well apart from bein a deep conditioner and thats the only time really i comb my hair wen washin it and so far so good

i never comb my hair!i never knew i dodnt need to comb my hair till i tried it. i just use my fingers and hands to do the job. it has saved me a lot of breakage. after shampoo and deep cond i use a cond with a lot of cones, like motions moisture plus and then a good moisturiser and hair polish. by the end my hair is so detangled ans smooth i dont need to comb!

I comb my hair while it is heavily coated with conditioner..then I rinse and comb again...only there are no tangles to deal with on the 2nd combout.

like sweetcocoa i do 2 combouts...I find it much easier to do my initial combout while my condit is in my hair b/c i get minimal hassle and very liitle shedding. When i rinse, there are few tangles, i'll spray motions leave in and do my 2nd combout.

I am natural too. I do the conditioner washes (no shampoo). I only comb my hair out when it is wet, full of conditioner and with a wide-toothed comb

I also do my combout with conditioner in the hair - but I also make sure that the stream of water I'm using is helping - so I comb with conditioner and the shower running the water down my length as a I comb. The tangles fall right out. I will ONLY comb my wet hair this way. Before this detanlging happens NO COMB touches my wet hair. Once it's done I can use whatever comb I want in my hair with no breakage. But I STILL apply my leave in before I use a comb again.

I don't comb at all until everything is rinsed out of my hair and I have applied my leave-in. I'm too afraid to comb it with conditioner in it...plus then you have to comb again after it's rinsed... I'd rather just comb it the one time.

I think I do my conditioning backwards than most girls on the board... While in the shower I wash and then I do a moisturizing conditioner this is when I comb out... I also like to see how much breakage I get. Then I rinse out the moisturerizing conditioner and get out of the shower and apply either Motions CPR or Hair Mayo and sit under the heat cap for like 45 minutes.
I then do the bend over the tub to rinse that out. So I guess the only time I comb is when I"m in the shower and have the moisturizing conditioner in my hair.

During the week I still don't really use a comp per se... I use a pick and then when I brush my hair back into a bun I try to limit brush usage to 10 strokes.

i comb my hair after i take the towel off and it is still damp, i use a serum or leave in and comb with a wide tooth comb.

I comb my hair when it's saturated with conditioner and once more after I apply all of my products (my hair is still wet).

I have my old way and the KeraCare Humecto way

!

My old way is I would rinse out the conditioner then put whatever oils, detangler, creme leave ins and etc on the hair then let it sit without manipulating the hair (3-5 minutes). This helped in the detangling process.
The KeraCare Humecto way I leave it in for a couple of hours and after I rinse my hair is already DETANGLED!!!!

I always comb while rinsing my detangling shampoo out under the stream of water. That way I have less problems after I condition and it's even more detangled by then.

I comb out slightly w/ a wide tooth comb when I'm rinsing out my final conditioner, and then I do my real tangling after towel drying w/ a whole arsenal of leave-in conditioners, detanglers, and oils.

As someone else said, I comb my hair with moisturizing condit on it as the water is running down the length of my hair. Then I have to comb it to part it for roller setting after all of my leave-ins are in it.

i do it exactly the same as sweetcocoa. i get much less shedding this way!

I comb my hair under the water, after the conditioning treatments, then I comb it again with the leave in(little to no hair loss)

after shampooing, i come while the conditioners in because it's silky and detangles easily.

I comb my hair while it is saturated w/a deep conditioner....I comb again after I apply a leave in conditioner....

I comb with the conditioner in my hair and then again when I apply my leave-in (s). Tangling isn't a problem for me and I do not get much shedding or breakage when my hair is wet, it's when it's dry that I tend to get problems.

I comb my hair when I put my moisturizing conditioner in my hair. I let the water run down my hair while I'm combing it. It detangles well this way.... I then comb it again after I add in my leave-ins...

I comb after my hair is half dry after deep cond. after I rinse out my conditioner I let the water smooth my hair back and then while still in the shower I smooth it into a bun and use a plastic pin to bun the wet tail. then I gently put a hairdini towel (cause theyre smaller and easier to use) over it and knot the end in a towel bun. I leave this on for about 1 hr then take it off. my hair is still damp but not wet and drippy. then I undo the bun, gently do my leave ins and THEN comb it thru using my shower comb and either re-bun it or do my two side twists. I've found that this really lessens any hair loss I have drastically compared to combing it straight out of the shower.

Me too!

Yeah PrettyBrownEyes,
I guess we both have the same hair texture then. Pandora, thanks for the finger combing technique. I started it and I can't believe the look I get. It's 'comb-like' and unbelievable.
Thanks everyone for your input.
Peace

I tried this for the first time this morning and it worked great! (Except for the surprise mouthful of conditioner!

) The water pulsing on my scalp at the same time felt good, too.

Sassygirl,

I hold my head back when I do this. How did you get it in your mouth?

I held my head down and started detangling the ends while the water ran down the side of my head.

It didn't take long to figure out I needed to tilt my head back... Live and learn!
