I comb my hair when it's wet....mainly in the shower. I don't have a need to comb my hair when it's dry/styled.

I comb whenever I feel the need to.

Actually, my hair does not really like being combed wet. I do that once to detangle after I put in my leave in, but my hair breaks less when I comb it after it is dry.

I do most of my combing under running water while rinsing out the conditioner...
I also comb my hair post wash...after applying my leave-in.

I do the same.

I don't really have drama combing my wet hair. My hair has never been real tanglely But when I do my friend's hair it's a whole different story.
Combing wet = disaster.

oh dear

never comb the hair when dry?
I ONLY COMB MY HAIR WHEN DRY lol oops

i NEVER comb my hair wet!

i comb my hair dry, when it is full of amla oil, oil lubricates the hair to the comb glides through

combing when wet seems too dangerous for me

more tangly and weaker when wet i think.

everyones different though i guess

I voted other. CW daily and comb when the conditioner is first put into my hair and then I put it up w/ a butterfly clip and continue on w/ my shower. Wash out when done w/ shower.

This is close to what i do. i shampoo in shower, put conditioner in, then comb through to detangle (and distribute conditioner), put on shower cap and continue showering. Then I rinse it out.

Besides that, I use a wide-tooth comb almost every day to style, but I haven't noticed any breaking or anything (yet)

I voted under the shower when rinsing out the conditioner. When I air dry my hair though, I comb after I've rinsed all the conditioner out and have applied a leave in conditioner or an oil moisturizing lotion to seal the moisture in.

I comb my hair in the shower: i try not to comb my hair but 2x a week: if I do comb my hair: to style or whatever: I learned from Macheriemour to comb ur tips first and work ur way up: this may sound simple or pointless but it makes a *HUGE* impact on my hair.

I comb with conditioner while in the shower, on towel dried hair, and I comb my hair daily when dry. I tried not combing my hair when dry, but it would be a mess to detangle when I would wash.

Post wash on soaking wet hair with leave ins. I usually towel dry after dcing and saturate my hair with my infusium23 moisturologie leave in. Then proceed to detangle. Tried detangling under running water in shower after dcing, doesn't work for me.:look:

the best combing/detangling option for me
(and i just started this a few days ago)
is to take my hair by small sections PRE-wash
load the sections w/ conditioner
detangle first with the large/wide tooth comb
and then go through w/ a small/fine tooth comb
to get the rest of the kinks out
and then twist each section

i then wash (gently) and deep condition w/ the twists still in.

i was always really rough and impatient w/ my detangling sessions
this is probably the best for me.

I'm really confused. What's bad about combing dry? I thought combing your hair wet causes more breakage because the hair is at its weakest. Someone fill me in please :perplexed

I comb in the shower while conditioner is in, and I end up combing through for rollersets, but it's sectioned combing. Also, when I need to pincurl my hair or moisturize and braid during the week I will use Robin's combing method from growafrolong and I may get about 4 or 5 strands that may come out when the hair is dry. Again, I section the hair that needs combing and very gently work the comb up and down so that I am not damaging the hair.

So basically I think there is a proper way to comb the hair that eliminates breakage and so forth, so I'm not afraid to comb it whenever I need to, I just use the proper method for each time.

I haven't combed my hair in a few months :look:. I detangle my hair with my fingers when it's dry. I then follow up with an oil rinse and deep condition. I condition wash my hair in a single braid and secure with a clamp. I can't do anything to my hair when it's wet or there will be breakage.

I tried to do the no combing but it do more damage then good to my hair. So now I only comb when I have a detangler in my hair (pantene pro-v detangler) and when I rollerset if I want a smooth rollerset. I take my time thats why I dont like any other hands up in my hair because some people comb thru your hair like your a rag doll. Other than that I finger comb dry hair or sometimes brush it if I need the sides to be smooth to go into a pony

I'm like you. I don't get it. Hair is weaker wet than dry. Can anyone explain this?

I comb my hair when it is dry.

That is why I keep my hair conditioned and moisturized. So that it can withstand that.

I do comb my hair when it is wet, but only after Fermodyl 619 and a Lustrasilk Olive Oil Deep Condition. That is when my wet hair seem to be able to handle the comb - the comb easily goes right through.

Sometimes, after about 3 weeks post touchup, my ends tangle so i cannot com from root to tip. I have to comb in sections from the ends to the roots to detangle and then I can comb normally for a gentle bit.

But, I comb my hair. Otherwise it would be a nasty tangled not-so-cute MESS!

depends on your hair type. As a natural there is no way in hell that I would bring a comb or brush to my dry hair when its tightly coiled. Thats asking for breakage and a snap crackle pop moment :lachen:In the shower I wet it with conditoner, the condtioner helps detangles it and loosen the curl pattern. The conditoner really protects your hair. I would not comb wet hair without some type of slipping product.
