When are we going to have another NYC meeting?

So any suggestions from anyone for a restaurant or is it BBQs? I can't think of anything off hand but others may have some ideas.

Based on numbers attending, we may need to secure a reservation in advance to get the place we really want.

I also have a digital cam and will bring it

This is what I have so far:
Some people are fine with EITHER date.
Three people seem to prefer the 26th and 2 people (even thoughh Dazzling D needs to study for her MCAT) prefer the 12th. This is based on what people have posted so far.

Also, I think BBQS is affordable--if you have somewhere else that is affordable (becasue I'm REALLY broke right now and I need to save my money for hair products

)

However--we are open to suggestions--

SexyGyrlNY--I know you need to make plans--can we wait just a few more days to see what the preference is?

I'll be out of town on the 12th but the 26th is fine. Rather than play with the location too much (this gets complicated enough as it is) I think the best bet is to decide on the date and then show up at BBQ's. The food is good enough and the price is right for most of us and the main point is for us to meet and have a good time. Perhaps we should place a call to reserve space in advance, but not if we don't have a firm date. IMO the sooner we decide for sure the more people will be able to really make plans and be there in earnest - at least that is the case for me. My schedule fills up pretty quickly, as I'm sure many people's do...I'd hate to lose a lot of folks that might want to come not be able to because we didn't decide in time.

Also bear in mind if it's at BBQ's - as far as I know they don't seat you until your entire party is present. Is this still the case? If it is, we may want to consider meeting there a little early to make sure we can get our table when it's time. Just something to bear in mind if they still work it that way....

A firm date is what's most important I think....the rest of the details can be worked out once we do that.

As the majority chose the 26th, we will be meeting on this date at 1 PM.

We will go to the BBQ's on 23rd st. and 8th Avenue as we did last time.

Hey Guys! I was just thinking this morning that my bday is this month (22nd), and I want to do something memorable. I've been trying to make a trip to NY for over a year now but everything has gone wrong, plus my family aboslutley forbids me to travel solo ( I'm 24 BTW). Anyways I remembered seeing this topic on the board and I would really like to come and meet you guys, plus I wouldn't be alone. I see alot of deals online for hotels and airfares but I don't know what to choose

Maybe if you could post what hotel deals you've seen online.
Would a travel agent be too much?
Do you prefer to stay in Manhattan?

) and I found a great deal at the Sheraton in Manhattan $468 for airfare and hotel. I'm trying to reach my cousin who lives in Florida to drag her along. I'd totally forgotten that we'd planned to got to NY around Easter she has relatives up there. I can't believe I forgot something like that. Please encourage me to come I always plan trips and at the last minute the money bug in me says "you know how good that money would look on your bank book?" and off to the bank I go. I have had a buddy pass from January saved money and everything to take a trip and still won't go.Last week a good friend gave me $400 dollars to spend whenever I decide to travel, can you guess where that money is now? So I'll rouse up my cousin so that she can come along and please guys help me take the trip or else the money bug will win again
