Okay, now I'm understanding the point of the OP. I agree. If we're talking a hair mag, people aren't too into if your hair is yours and 'healthy', they want to see styles. She's always wearing the same style in these magazines so I wonder what type of message that sends. For someone with her hair type, I don't see how they could get style inspiration from seeing her in the same style every issue. It's like having the same type 4 celebrity rocking a fro in every issue--all type 4 naturals don't want to wear fros everyday--show us some options.
Like someone else said, Chili has what's considered 'pretty' hair by most black women--hence why that type of weave flies off shelves.
But you just answered the first. They look at her hair and take that cover of that magazine to the weavologist, "Make my hair look like that!! What kind of wet n wavy do I need?"
Chilli is one of those women who has the ideal hair in the minds of many, many black women. Because of this, she doesn't HAVE to style her hair a different kind of way. What it is gets admired enough, and is stylish enough, on its own.
Besides, her hair is her trademark.
