What's in your spray bottle(s)?

ACV, rosemary essential oil, lavendar essential oil, water.

For what do you use the spray bottle(s)?

To spritz my twists if I want to put them up in a style; they are easier to stretch when damp.

I also use this as my "ACV rinse" if I don't feel like dunking my head in an ACV solution in a basin as my final rinse after washing my hair. I will towel dry, then spritz my twists and let them airdry.

What tips can you share for keeping your mixture fresh?

I don't do anything really. I guess it doesn't stick around enough for it not to remain fresh since I wash my hair twice a week and I tend to lazy more days than not so spritzing is really what I'm likely to do instead of dunking. What's more, vinegar and essential oils are preservatives themselves so even if I didn't use it fast, I don't think I'd be too worried about the solution going bad. *shrug*

I'll start-

What's in your spray bottle(s)? 1 has lacio lacio & water (for rollersets & some braidouts. Another one has water & my favorite moisturizing conditioners (basically, I take the leftover conditioner that I can't get out that's at the end of a bottle, put a little hot water in the bottle, swish it around until it all becomes liquid & put that into a spray bottle for bunning and spritzing.

For what do you use the spray bottle(s)? rollersets, braidouts, twistouts, bunning

What tips can you share for keeping your mixture fresh? I am actually interested in keeping that mildew smell away, so any tips are appreciated. :D

You can buy a preservative online. There are ones like optiphen that do not contain parabens. Some think that things like grapefruit essential oil or vitamin will do it but they won't. You need a real preservative.

What's in your spray bottle(s)?
I Keep all essentials in bottles. Scurl, Leav-in Argan Oil combo and Evoo

For what do you use the spray bottle(s)?

What tips can you share for keeping your mixture fresh?
Keep in a cool dry place and shake, shake, shake :)

Update: my new spray bottle has 10 oz water, 4pz aloe Vera juice, and 2 oz glycerin or conditioner depending on the weather.

I have avj, glycerin, rosemary and cedarwood eos which I spray on my celie plaits for moisture then I seal with grapeseed oil. Only been doing it a few days but if I do it 2x daily my hair stays somewhat moist. I only make enuf to last a week so I dont think it will go bad before I use it up. Hopefully this will be a staple for me.

Distilled water and vegetable glycerin.
I use it to spritz my bun before sealing.
It's really my only moisturizer at the time.
Keeping it simple.
I keep it in the bathroom where it's nice and cool.

Ladies:

What's in your spray bottle(s)?
Mine's boring, it's just tap water

For what do you use the spray bottle(s)?
I moisturize with water.

What tips can you share for keeping your mixture fresh?
Keep the bottle clean, and use up whatever your mixture is quickly
Thanks in advance for sharing!

I have several different versions (I seal all with jamaican black castor oil jbco):

(1) Distilled water & castor oil = for detangling, and everyday moisture spritz
(2) Distilled water, Aubrey Organics HSR, castor/jojoba oil = everyday super moisture spritz
(3) Aloe vera juice, good smelling cond'r, castor/jojoba oil = daily moisture spritz
(4) Distilled water, aloe vera juice, castor/jojoba oil (with or without HSR) = daily moisture spritz

Water, tea tree oil, rosemary oil, and msm. I use this to moisturize the hair and scalp as needed, and it's very soothing. One 8oz bottle can last months, and stays fresh since the oils are anti-bacterial/anti-fungal. I don't mix any products into it.

Ok I just started using a spray bottle on the regular, like every morning and this is the first time I am getting results that I want which is moisturized hair!!! Previous mixes left me just :nono: UGH - disgusted!

What's in it: Water & KCC Knot Today Leave In

Uses: Thus far I have used it for prepping my daily poof style in the mornings

Tips for freshness: I recommend only mix what you need/will use within a week (can stretch a couple days longer if need be), keep the bottle in cool area, such as your bathroom cabinet or counter and clean your spray bottle out with soap & water in-between mixes.

My spray bottle contains water, Tigi Bedhead Moisture Maniac Conditioner, and castor oil. I use it as a leave-in. I only use enough for the time I'm doing my hair to ensure that nothing is wasted.

My leave in has several products:
Elasta QP H2
S-Curl Moisturizer

avocado/jbco/peppermint/rosemary oils

As you can see, I just threw some stuff together because I'm trying to use up my stash!!

Distilled liquid aloe Vera, distilled rosewater, glycerin and a few drops of jasmine essential oil.

I use to to refresh my WnGs in the morning after I pineapple my hair at night. I also use it before I pineapple at night to help stretch my hair some. Then I seal with castor oil on the ends.

in my spray bottle i have glycerin, bottled water, cinnamon extract and grapeseed oil. i use it every morning before i pony my hair for work. i also use it after i wash my hair before i twist it up. so far i have had great results with it. keeps my hair super soft and moisturized(not wet) all the time which is a must in this GA weather. even when i forget to use a satin scarf at night.:grin::grin:
