I voted appreciate my progress and keep trying.
And after the baby is born start using my MTG again and more frequently.

i always set lofty goals so i didn't really expect to get to APL that quick....you know, shoot for the moon and all. when i realized i wasnt gonna make it all i did was set a new goal. IMO all the attention to it has made my hair look great regardless of the fact that i failed to reach my goal.

I'd probably check and see what can I approve with my regimen. After doing any tweeking, I would just continue until I get to my goal. Time is going by anyway so I might as well take care of my hair while it is going by. 2010 can come and I could be at my goal or near it or no where near it cause' I gave up. I'd rather take the being at or near my goal.

Appreciate my progress and keep trying! I don't remember the last time my hair has felt this soft and strong. I set goals so I can stay focused and disciplined. I'm not going to be devastated if I don't reach them. I didn't expect my hairline to respond so quickly to my MegaTek mixture. I need to find the blasted cable for my camera to upload my before pictures.

If i don't reach my goal on time i will reach it when i reach it. It wouldn't be the first time, lol. The world will keep revloving around me.:look:

I have been disappointed with less than desired growth so many times, I've practically given up on growth progress. I am now letting it be, and continue to focus on what's been rewarding to me - great strength, healthy strands and lots of body. Growth??? whenever it gets there, I'll take it:ohwell:.

I will be thankful for what I have and keep trying. But with that said, I'm hoping, praying and believing for my goals to come true! :yep:

I think I'll be a little disappointed but then it will only make me want to work harded at achieving it next time around. I think setting goals is what makes me try my best to get there. I have a apl goal by April 2009 my 1yr hair journey anniversary and bsl goal by Dec 2009 and I really hope I make it but if I don't I will step up my game and set a new goal until I make it. :)

When I first started my journey (pre BC) I was stressing over meeting goals. Now I just hope for the best, and be amazed at what I have accomplished. Any progress is good progress.

Ok, I wish I could be zen and just shrug but I MUST reach APL by Feb. I've been doing everything right and I am 1/2 behind. I NEED to grow 1 inch in a month. Okay chest feels better.

At the end of the day, I don't want to set a particular time limit on it and then when that day and time approaches and its not where I want it to be, Im upset. I would rather have made significant progress by my goal date than anything else. My goal, more than anything, is to avoid setbacks, not to reach a particular length. I've dealt with so many hair setbacks for sooooooo long that now I am DETERMINED not to let it happen again. I've come to the realization that I control what happens to my hair and it's up to me if the outcome will be positive or negative.

Sorry, but the thread title has me laughing. "on time". It just doesn't work that way.

It doesn't make any sense for me to set a time goal. It's like trying to make the wind blow east instead of west. I've discovered that this hair growing business is about patience, more than anything else. It'll get there when it gets there and not a day before.

I didn't have a set time, really. But its been two years and I now have shorter hair than when I started. Its discouraging. I said I would give up after another year. But I'm not sure I can 'give up'. Once you are educated about how to take care of your hair, can you really ever turn back to ignorance?

It's great that there are ZERO votes for quit! :woohoo:

Since my BC in 7/09, I've only retained like 5 inches. Grew more, but had to cut it.

Right after the BC, my hair grew really fast, but after a while I started being bad.

1 DC per week instead of 2x like my hair likes. No daily moisturizing. Ripping my hair out with combs and brushes. No Tea rinsing. Sometimes going up to 3 weeks without washing (or DCing) because I got lazy. :nono:

At least I have retained some length and my hair isn't terribly damaged (the no heat regimen helped me out there). It just needs some moisture and TLC and I think it'll be back to it's old self and thriving again in a few months.

I've decided to go back to the things that work and stop being lazy. You fall off the horse, you hop back on. :)

I usually give myself realistic goals considering that i know my growth rate. Once I stick to my reggie and dont do anything to give myself a setback i usually meet my goals.

I don't have a fixed date for reaching a specific deadline. I refuse to set myself up for disappointment.

I am very happy for any lenght i retain, this is the longest my hair has ever been and hopefully it continues to thrive. I dont think i would be upset if i didnt reach the hair goals that i previously set. In the past i didn't really set any goals, i just consistenly kept doing my routine and that is what i think i will continue to do in the future.

Jump off a cliff

J/k! LOL. I will try to figure out what I did wrong and try again and go to more extreme measures. Like, right now my goal is APL by Dec 2011. I plan on cutting waaay back on heat and protective styling ALOT more. If I don't make my goal, I may try to cut out heat completely and protective style 24/7 in 2012.

My current goal is full apl by Dec 2011... My main goal is healthy unstretched apl hair whenever it happens. I'm concentrating on getting it healthy and it will grow as long as it's healthy
If I get it by December I will um.................... Be at peace with my journey :)

When my hair was MBL I was soooo upset when I didn't get to WSL in 6 months like I thought I would. Now I realize that 6 months is beyond unrealistic. Plus who the heck complains about MBL hair anyway? LOL

So now that I'm WSL trying to reach hip length, I gave myself a realistic target of ONE YEAR plus I am enjoying my hair along the way. If I don't make it in a year I won't be all dramatic and sad. My hair has come a long way.
