I used an excel spreadsheet to track the expenses. We used a coordinator for the day of but not a formal wedding planner.

but since you mentioned you tracked everything- what did tools did you use to do this i.e. spreadsheets, wedding planner etc

Also can you let me know more info on your venue...i'm interested in the location you used since it could accomodate so many ppl and you seem to be satisfied with it

Prior to planning out costs, I wanted to spend 15k-20k. But that changed to about 26k on wedding and 15k on honeymoon. It was in NewOrleans,LA.

Venue which was beautifully decorated with food was about 15k. Flowers, 3500, videographer 1500, photographer 3000, reception dinner 2200 (parents paid or this). Cake 700, dress 700. These are roundabout figures, though......it's been a few years!!!

10K... We ended up spending about 12K.

ETA: Sorry that included the honeymoon. The wedding and reception itself was only about 4k. We had a destination wedding.

Excluding rings and honeymoon, I think we are going to end up in the 35k range. Food, photography, and videography are really important to us so we are splurging on those.

I'm just going to have to get married at my parents house out in the boonies. How much do those big tents generally cost?

I'mma tell my mom now she needs to get started, sprucing up the landscape, etc. Don't say I didn't warn her!

I've read through the whole thread and boy oh boy some figures had my eyes popping. When my time comes i don't want an elaborate event. i prefer intimate and my budget is 5k

I posted this a year ago and we are now getting married at a different location so it won't be quite as expensive. I think we will end up in the 25k range for approximately 80 people.
