what was your starting length and what is it now?

I cut my BSL hair to the shoulder in June; I'm back a wee bit past APL now.

In December 06, I was ear length in the back and below ear, but not neck length on the sides. By December 07 I was past shoulder length. I'm hoping to be full APL or longer by December 08.

it was very short; about two inches. it was less than ear length (from the front). see here.

now i'm about collar bone length (at the nape) and about chin length at the front. it took one year (bear in mind, i've trimmed quite a few times). see here.

Now about two inches from full apl
The left side of my head is very prone to breakage and grows very slowly so I've had to cut the right side several times to keep things even. I could have been well past apl if It weren't for that . Have to be greatful because this is the longest my hair has ever been.
My end goal is mid-back...

I started with a pixie cut(pic in my profile) and now i am about 2 ins. from shoulder...and i have cut at least three inches of horrible ends that just had to go since i joined lhcf.So i could have bee shoulder length,with jacked up ends by now. My last trim was two days ago,and now i feel like i'm going to be able to go without one for a while.

Wow, that is what I call inspiration for me! soemetimes I feel it's not possible, that it's not going to happen for me. I even perpetuate the myth myself that Black hair can't grow....I guess I get discouraged sometimes! I feel a little more confident now. Thanks for sharing.

I made it past SL in January 2009. Had a setback which left me back at a little above NL in March 2009.

I've made it back to a little past SL January 2010 with hopes of hitting APL at the end of this year.

Started my journey about 6 months ago at APL. Cut off about 3 or so inches of split ends to just below shoulder length and now back at my starting length. Hope to be at by goal of BSL by end of this year.

When I first started at LHCF, in 2003, I was a broken, raggedy ends shoulder length, I am now maintaining at waist length. It took about 3.5-4 years to get there.
