What styles will you be trying/shooting for in 2012

I'm at the point now (and have been for awhile now) where any style that is low maintenance, get-up-and-go, and easy to take down, are the right choice for me. I am sure 2012 will be the same, although I always have ideals for the most elaborate hair styles. When it comes down to actually doing them, I'm always like, "*** this ish" lmbo.

I talk a lot about what I am going to do but when it comes down to it this sounds like me. I just want something that I can do in 1 hour on wash day and that looks good. And if I can wear it multiple days that would be great.

If I can rock twist for 2 days, a twistout for 2 days and a puff for 2 days then that would be great. And if I can get an emergency bun style that would be fabulous. :yep:

We will see what 2012 brings.

I just want to put my hair in a bun that won't make my head feel like its exploding. I stretch my hair out and I swear just a few hours later it will be a shrunken mess. I think I will have to be BSL before I can have a decent bun.

Since I have only been natural for four months, I am hoping to be able to bun, straw set, roller set, kinky twist and a sew in. Perfect my twist and twist outs, bantu knot outs.

Dang! I was hoping this thread would be full of pics to drool over.

*kicks rocks* Let me go dig up an inspiration thread.

But to answer, I just want to do something similar to these:

Ow! Oww!!

OP.. I swear my hair looked like that when I woke up this morning. Result of an old Bantu knot out.. and I guess the moisturize from my shower. I can tell you that it didn't look as nice as that picture at all :nono: :look:

I'd like to do a successful mini twist..last time I tried it my hair looked jacked up.

I have a few:
-bantu knot out
-rollerset and saran wrap (WHEN I make it to BSL)
-flexi-rod set
-flat twistout

The flexi rod set is first on my list

If I can get my hands to cooperate (I struggle with hand and wrist strains from typing from work)I would really like to get a two strand twist game together.

daydreem2876, I have carpal tunnel in both wrists from excessive typing, so I feel your pain. My best piece of advice: take your time and take multiple breaks, even if you don't feel you need one. If I go straight through I can probably twist my hair in 1.5-2 hours, but I will pay for it for weeks later :nono:. So for every two rows I complete, I take a 20 or so minute break. If I need to take an anti-inflammatory I do so. Also, come h#ll or high water, those twists stay in for 3 weeks because I don't want to put unnecessary strain on my wrists. I keep them pinned up for the last two weeks and will redo the front row for neatness, but it's way too stressful otherwise. I hope this helps some. Good luck!!

Not so much a particular style, but I'd like to use more hair accessories to spruce up different styles. Pretty headbands, decorative hair pins and maybe play with hair sticks.

I will be attempting ponytail rollersets next year. I'd do it this year but I already promised my hair that I'd stop experimenting on her for the rest of 2011. :spinning:

I want to find more creative styles for my braidouts and bantu-knot outs. As my hair gets longer, I would love to create more stylish buns and updos. I also want to figure out the best way to style the front of my hair when I wear an "out" style. My side parts never look right and I cannot wear a middle part...

Rod sets! I've been drooling over kairox146 hair FOREVER!

i would love to do a neat braid out!! cant braid so that may never happen.
Also when i hit APL i wanna get it blown out, i miss my SWANG!

I want dream 2 strand twists with more swang....my shrinkage kind of kills it for my twists....or maybe master dry twist sets.

And be more confident to wear my hair out more often and try buns!
