What just didn't work out this year?

What product, tool, or technique will not be renewed in 2009?

For me SLS shampoos and Infusium.

clearly relaxers are dead in my life.

and was not that fond of baggying either. so for now..that is out.

no pomades, petroleum, mineral oil, greases, etc. anything of that kind

no more dominican blowouts..not good for the health of my transitioning hair..no salons at all actually

All Carol's Daughter's products. They worked previously but no longer.

If I buy a product that does not work, rather than using it up I will find a way to give it away.

SLS poo's (L'anza Healing Moisture is Fabulous)
Stretching longer than 8 weeks (at least for a minute)
Washing more than once per week (no time for that right now)
Going long periods of time without at least dusting
Obsessing over my hair

No cheap conditioners for me. I don't even like them for co washing. Also I have been on a no flat iron regimen for 5 months and now I'm giving myself permission to flat iron 1 time a week. Gosh I hope that's not a mistake.....

No blow drying either. But I may try Pinkskates tension method one day soon...

No more air drying ( causes breakage for me )
No more pre-pooing.... didn't see the benefits of it and takes up too much time

No more oil- my hair really doesn't like much oil. Certain ones are okay but as a whole, oil is a no go.
No more going months and months without a trim

No more chelating shampoos as regular poo!
No more Hollywood Beauty Castor Oil...too heavy, looking for the liquid variety.
No more click clips that don't have the little plastic lining like the new ones by hmmm...Scunci. "No slip grip No Damage Clasp Barette" They just came out here and they are fabulous! No more little hairs getting caught in the hinge!

No more relaxing every 6 weeks.

No cheap products. I'm sorry but they just coat my hair, and leave it dry and limp.

No more flatironing more then once a week.

That's it for now...

Sulfate shampoos
Touching my flat iron more than once a week
Air drying (my hair goes all sorts of crazy)
Shampooing more than 2 times *guilty*

No shampoos with SLS or any other detergent. No buying products just because. No relaxing hair before 12 weeks post relaxer.

1. No baggying at all, that's not the truth for me.
2. More co-washes
3. No more 6mths stretches unless my hair has major protein and strength, (i think my hair loves protein)
4. Taking better care of my ends(avoing the scissors), did way too many trims this year almost at every wash.
5. Finding the best leave-ins and conditioners for my hair
6. Helping a friend achieve healthy hair
7. Will try to self relax at least once next year.

Transitioning is out the door. I'm starting 2009 all natural.
No more PJ attacks. I substantially limiting my stash right now and I'll only buying things I need.
