Yeah definitely glue in weaves (that I did myself nonetheless). I know I looked a HAM looking back. I lost a lot of hair over time.

I would say grease but a couple of weeks ago I went back to using Fantastix Hair Thickner grease. It had been over 2 years since I used any grease but my hair has been soooo dry and nothing seems to work. The grease has made it very soft. So I'm going to keep it in my routine.

I don't know why brown gel gets such a bad rap. I love it and I still use it...and no my hair aint crunchy. LOL
I think the way it was used it the past is what caused the damage because once I learned proper hair care I've been good to go.

Now that I think about it...my products haven't changed much...just the way that I use them....interesting :ohwell:

Oh..back to the topic:
Pink Oil Lotion
Oil Sheen
Pump it Up Spritz..the GOLD (for holding braids) (that mess wouldn't even freeze when I left it in my car at -60 below when I was stationed in North Dakota!)

Shampoo without following with conditioner
Bonding glue
Cathy Howse Conditioner...(the mist was ok)

When I was a teen, I use to lighten my hair by pouring a bottle of peroxide on it and letting it sit. After all of these years, my mom still talks about how beautiful my haircolor was. She never knew what I did to get it. LOL

How funny. You couldn't tell me I wasn't stylin (I think once I seen Kwame with his golden strip in the front, anything was possible)

Pink Oil
Perm Repair
Blue Magic mixed with Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion
...But I am NOT ashamed.:nono: At the times I used this, my hair loved it. Who knew...

One more thing...Jam to make unbelievable sideburns that took up my entire forehead. Whenever it got hot, it would run like sweat and I would look like Lisa's boyfriend in coming to America.

Alternative's realxer, gel, and oil sheen...

any oil sheen for that matter...

vaseline intensive care BODY lotion in my hair (only when i ran out of gel though)

weave glue....

pump it up & isoplus spritz...

cheap curling irons everyday....

that's all i can think of now... excuse me while i run to baby my hair and take away the painful memories...

80 percent peroxide (professional) to turn my hair yellow, and then I had the nerve to color it with Tish & Snooky's Manic Panic. HAM!
Jam gel
Luster's Pink lotion
oil sheen spray for days:lachen:

I'm surprised I didn't go bald

I have so many but these are the worst ones off top:

Those dreaded Dark & Lovely self-relaxer kits---used to leave my hair horribly dry but I thought that was ok as long as my hair was straight back then.

Spritz---When I was in high school...I had a waterfall cut (all my Texas people know what I am talking about) and I would re-spritz for like a week straight after getting my hair done. So bad.

Black/Brown Gels---Yuck!

and last but not least......

Royal Crown Hair Grease---OLD SCHOOL!

ultra sheen hair grease
pink oil moisturizer

i'm sure it's more but until i knew better I swore by these products...:lachen:

Pink Lotion
Spriz
Brown Gel (which is upstairs right now)
Jam (which is keeping BG company)
Perm repair w/Placenta
Blue Magic
Fabulaxer I wore this relaxer out.
Royal Crown that I mix with Glover's Mane twice a week. Still doing this one.

indian hemp hair grease
the slime colored "hair food" in a jar
Luster's "lite" pink oil -- I thought it was actually better or something :ohwell:

Ultra Sheen blue hair grease. That was all I used back in grade school. Then they came out with the clear TCB hairdressing. I loved that stuff. I'd probably still be using it today had it not been discontinued.

Dark & Lovely No-Lye relaxer. I blame my Mom for this. It was my first relaxer. She used it the millisecond it was introduced.

Pert Plus - I hated to condition my hair. Actually, I still do. The TV said you could use this and wash and condition at the same time. It sounded good back then. After I blow dried, I followed up with Luster's pink oil.

If I didn't want to set my hair before I went to bed, I'd set in in the morning with Miss Cool. And I wondered why I my hair always broke off.

Relaxers
Ampro brown gel
Jam
Pink Oil
Grease
Lotta body
Wrap n Tap
V05 Shampoo
Vinegar on a relaxer (trying to go natural) Joke was on me

the famous--brown gel--in a ponytail--with the drop curls and a bang...lololol

their needs to be a boycott against that damn gel---lmao--or a warning use at your own risk...sumthin---

New Era spritz - I used to live for this stuff.

Indian Hemp - I thought I was using something 'natural'. It was the little flecks of herbs and twigs that made it seem so wonderful :yep:.

Coconut oil (the cheap crap in the BSS) - It was mainly petrolatum, but I cherished it for a while - once again thinking it was more 'natural'. I remember the top being brown and the label was in brown writing - it came across as very earthy to me. I see you giving me the side eye - in my defense, I was only sixteen.

Various brands of oil sheen -especially salon brand oil sheens. I thought they were better than drug store brands, but they were still crappy and made my hair feel sticky and weighed down.

Razac Perfect for Perms. I've always been a pj and I loved this because initially it was hard to find and I liked using new products. It was overly scented and also weighed my hair down.

Pink sponge rollers - I used rolling papers, but still...

Elasta QP Glaze

pink oil moisturizer
any grease as "moisturizer"
flat irons/curling irons daily (sometimes almost twice daily)

-Pink Oil Moisturizer (Used it for years and it STILL didn't stick that my hair was dry hours later even when it's supposed to moisturize lol!)
-that doo doo brown gel...one time was all it took for me to see that gel and my hair don't go together.
-V05 Hot Oil Treatment...it was just sitting on my hair and looking nasty...
-Castor Oil in the form of grease...again...sitting looking nasty:lachen:

Dippity Do, ahhh haaa. Yaw'll prolly don't even know what that is! :lachen:

Put that crap in my hair, did not know it was for clear folk! Boy was that a no-no.

I would use pretty much any bottled oil cocktail as a moisturizer and to flat iron my hair with. I used Kemy Oil, some Carrot Oil Blend etc...
I used a lot of Oil Sheen.
Jam and Slick Stuff (Slick Stuff is just like Jam but less buildup and it's easier to wash out)
Pink lotion
Blue Magic grease (I flat ironed with it too)

The strange thing is my hair didn't suffer from any of that...

that Dr. Miracles<---more like a nightmare
African Pride grease-with the little sticks and berries all up in my hair
oh and anything by Dudleys. ;__; soo sad, I know. :nono:

Using peroxide to color my hair as a teenager. My friends and I would use this to lighten our bangs to some awful color. Amazingly, my hair didn't break off back then.

The brown gel b/c my "tee tee nisa" used it and I thought it was cool!
Perm Repair (I wasn't permed...just used it anywhoo)
Pink oil Moisturizer
Indian Hemp
Coconut Oil Grease
Liv
Random Lotions
Random Gels
Pressing Grease (trying to get bone straight blow dry)
the VO5 "hairdressing" in a tube
Oil Sheen (any kind)
Lotta body (straight and with water)
Hollywood Carrot Cream
Baby oil (yes...I have put baby oil in my hair)
That light green grease that came in the little jars (my grandmother used this and water on my hair until I was like 6)
Other random oils for flat ironing/blowdrying
911-smelled awful until they reformulated it (my mom used this!)

Funny thing is, throughout my childhood, regardless of what my mom was using (usually pink oil moist. or something similar), my hair was very healthy, shiny, and LONG!!!! We would wear our hair braided throughout the summer, so I'm sure that helped alot!

I'm sure there are more...I went through a phase as a teen where I tried all sorts of weird concoctions that I would create!

What was the name of that grease? I used this, too.
