What is your problem area? Help needed.

Im just wondering what others are doing to help problem areas on your heads to recover from damage or grow longer and healthier.

My hair is doing quite well, i believe its growing at an average rate and im still learning what works for my hair. But i have one problem area that i haven't bothered to pay much attention to.
In the middle at the back of my head, my hair doesn't seem to grow as long as the rest of my head, i've decided its the result of what position i sleep in (its the best guess i've got y'all :perplexed). We'll actually thinking about it, it could be down to ginetics, im sure my mothers hair is the same way.

Whatever it is i've decided i need to do something to see if i can improve that part of my hair.
Maybe i need to do massages, try essential oils, use some kind of growth aid - anything to help that one patch (about the size of my palm) catch up.

So what are your suggestions girls, what have been your problem areas and what have you done to improve it?

I think im going to create an album in my fotki dedicated to my problem patch. :ohwell:

i have the same problem in my middle nape area...all i do is keep it moisturised and dont add extensions to that area when i do my braids. Its filling in although very slowlyyyyyyyyyyy:perplexedMy mom seems to think its genetic, she ssays her dads hair pattern is the same....i just dont like the way it look when i wear my hair out...it's almost like an upside down V...ughhh.....any other ladies with this problem????

I have this same area, i dont lie on my back when asleep. I have concluded its cause i always start relaxing from the back, from now on i will switching sides.
I also selectively moisturise that area, its growing slowly.
i currently have 2" of newgrowth (last relaxer 3 months ago, i think i only have 1.5" in that area, so it definately grows slower.
I am actually considering apply growth aid to that area, but i just have issues with consistency with growth aid.

My nape area is my problem area. No matter what I do it just won't grow. I also this it's something genetic maybe? because my mom's is like that and my grandmothers. The texture of the hair is even different in that area. But the rest of my hair is long enough to cover it so its not too bad.

The very very front edges of my hair and my temples.

Temples were from getting twists a few years back from a lady who was just doing them waaaaaay too tight.

My edges in general they are just the weakest link! :ohwell:

Growing but slowly and steady. It is just amazing, but I guess this is the part that builds my character and my patience about all of this natural stuff on top of my head.

Then I look on the bright side a realize it could be worse so, I don't complain anymore. It is what it is and I just deal with it.

My hair used to break terribly at the crown and nape - until someone here suggested sleeping on a satin pillow case. It has worked like a charm; no more breakage in these areas at all. It also solves the problem of trying to keep the blinking scarf on at night.

The crown. And the nape on the left side. Both areas are better now than when I was relaxed but they still seem to be shorter than the rest of my hair.

For some reason the temples and the nape are my problem areas always. everything else is growing nicely, and these areas are going at turtle speed!!

I have some layers that just WILL NOT catch up. I feel like cutting my hair but something tells me not to.

In the meantime, I have been just clipping the back up until I can figure out my next move.

My hair is just plain odd, i sleep in a satin cap, and i also have a satin pillow case.

Usually when i wake u in th morning, if my hair isn't plaited, the front is in an upward direction, then the back is flat. So i figured its down to how i sleep, but my nape is not the problem, my nape is longer, it's the middle that's shorter which makes me think its genetics.

Since realising, i've tried to make the effort of plaiting my hair at night - hopefully that will help.

Left nape area is my problem spot. Been like that for the last 9 years. I think it is just a stress spot. it comes and goes. Only in that area. The rest of my hair is much longer and healthier. I am back on vitamins and massaging it.

My weakest areas is my temples (both sides) and my crown. In all of those areas the hair is very thin. :perplexed :look:  Thank God for my wash n' go and the shrinkage that comes with it, I can mask my thin spots quite nicely :yep: :ohwell: If I relaxed my hair I'd probably look like fire marshall Bill.

The sides of my temples are my problem area, this has been the case for most of my life. I learned that I had to treat them completely different than the rest of my scalp. I'm relaxed, but for the temples I relax every other time. I also keep those areas away from heat and styles that cause stress to the hair (braids, updos that requires twistsin the front).

My nape and my sides are my problem areas. I started myself on a personal nape challenge, and take photos monthly while I concentrate my attention on this area. I apply my deep conditioner in sections and make sure my nape is well saturated. I also apply BT only to the nape and sides (and do a little scalp massage afterwards). This has really helped. I was already moisturizing and sealing these areas separately, but these new methods gave the areas a little extra kick.
