What is your love language?

Words of affirmation got a 1  Probably from an ex who always used to say he'd be there for me and would disappear whenever I got angry with him or upset with him.

Physical Touch- 10
Acts of Service- 9

Everything else was pretty low . I'm not a touchy-feely person to people I just meet, like some people are, but if I love you or we have an intimate relationship, I need to be touched regularly . With my best friends, we were always hugging, snuggled up, holding hands or hitting each other. It made us feel really connected to each other, and we loved each other like family :yep:. After the Valentine's weekend where my friend and I took our situation to the next level, I know that physical touch trumps everything else for me. Even though he drove 10 hours to come see me, had flowers delivered to my door, and brought me a present, the fact that he barely kissed me, and didn't have his hands on me every 5 seconds made me feel more unwanted and insecure than I ever had before . I couldn't let that go even when I tried so hard to, and the lack of physical touch undid everything else he had done. But I'm so glad I learned what my absolute deal breaker was :ohwell:

Now I understand why the "relationships" that worked for me did. This also explains why I keep getting up to find one of my cats to rub .

First was Acts of Service
Second: Receiving gifts.

Makes sense. I don't want you to just talk, I want you to do. Then I want you to put thought into surprising me and showing me you appreciate me. The gifts one isn't about materialism it's the effort put into doing something to show you care according to their breakdown and that's pretty much me all the way.

I retook the test. Answers are similar but different. I apparently appreciate loving words more than I did last year.
