What is your daily water intake …?

..Im wondering if 2.2liters per day is sufficient

What would you suggest??

Lebiya, I drink the same amount or a little more each day. I was thinking about adding another liter or so, depending on if i add more vitamins to my daily intake.

A half gallon. Sometimes I drink a little more or less.

Do I hear a challenge coming on? A gallon of water a day...

my derm told me that one's supposed to drink half his/her weight (in pounds) in H20 (in ounces). so if you weigh 130 lbs. you should drink 65 oz.-- i round it down to 64 and drink round 8 (8 oz) glasses/day. moisturizes the skin and hair from the inside out :yep:

My goal is 3 liters/96 oz per day. I usually drink 2-3 liters daily. I started regimen about 2 months ago. I do not crave anything but water during the day. I also drink 8 oz of coffee or tea in the morning. That is a necessity!

I'm really bad at drinking water :nono:

I don't like regular bottled water I only like sparkling and that can get expensive. I have literally gone without drinking plain water for a month before in the past :perplexed and realize that's not wise so now I make myself drink regular bottled water with those Lipton powder things, I like the cranberry apple the best and I will force myself to drink two 12 oz bottles a day. That's the best I can do Gina, that's the best I can do :lachen:

I love water! I drink that more than anything. I drink 48-64 oz a day. I want to cut sodas out completely so I drink lots of water, green tea, real fruit juices (preferably those without high-fructose corn syrup) and Tang.

That sounds like a lot, but again I don't know your weight or fitness leve. You wanna make sure that you don't overdose on water. It is possible and can have serious side effects. I mean some say you don't really need a whole lot of water, while others say you do. I say follow your body ques...

Overdosing On Water Can Be Dangerous

Posting Date: 05/02/2005

Q. I drink at least eight large glasses of water every day to maintain good health. When I play soccer or tennis I force myself to drink a lot more. I recently heard that you can drink too much water. What are the consequences?
A. People have been led to believe that they need to drink a lot of water to stay healthy, especially if they are exercising vigorously. But new research suggests that there are hazards to overdosing on fluids.
A study in the New England Journal of Medicine (April 14, 2005) revealed that marathon runners who drank more than three liters during a race were more likely to develop a complication called hyponatremia (water intoxication). [/COLOR]If sodium levels drop through sweating and excessive water intake, a person can experience dizziness, confusion, seizures or coma. This can even be fatal. The same complication can occur when parents force fluids on children with fevers from colds or the flu.Drinking to quench thirst is usually a good guide to preventing dehydration. But don't force yourself to drink more than you want. And don't count on sports drinks to prevent hyponatremia.

My trainer told me the same thing. :yep: I try this as well but I usually come up short.

I try and drink about 4 16oz cups a day...I've found that I'm able to reach my goal mostly from Mon-Fri when I am at work...I guess I've been able to make it into a routine to fill my cup up at the cooler and drink throughout the day. Now when I am at home, I know I don't do a good job of drinking water unless its one of my running days.

Hey, me, too! Well, not the Tang. I love water, it's free! And nothing refreshes like water. I really dislike soda, always have (it burns, nothing "soft" drink about it!). I like green tea, too, but don't drink it that much. Same thing for juices. Those things cost money. :look: I prefer the 100% juices because they taste better than those punches, but money, so I just end up drinking water. Every now and then a glass of milk. I don't know how much I drink, probably a cup every 1-2 hours I'm awake, so a lot.

I try to drink 56 to 64oz per day. Most of the days during the week I meet my goal. On the weekends when I am on the go I find it harder. I don't think that I would be able to drink more than that because I need to sleep at night.

I heard you should drink half your weight in ozs. also so but I drink a little more...96oz a day. I just started doing it consistently about a 2 weeks ago and it has done wonders for my skin. Also when i dont i feel like I'm dying of thirst

Ajargon02, thanks for the info! I didn't know that it was possible to "overdose" on water. I know that one week, I drank so much, my ankles started to swell. I looked like I was carrying an orange inside my socks. (I've always had thin ankles so I was scared to death when I saw this)

Mwedzi, I know what you mean about cost. That's one of the reasons why I drink water. I can't stand milk, though. I've never liked it.:nono: When I was little, my parents used to try to force me to drink it. I would rather have a whipping than to drink it.:drunk:

I use to drink 64oz a day. I really fell off my A-game with this. I am not getting enough water and I am paying for it with a dry scalp.

as I read this, drinkin' this bottle of dasani, I reralize that this is about what I drink during the weekdays (weekends...forget about it).

And that aint good. According to another poster, I'm supposed to drink half my body weight...21cups....about 175 oz......:cry2:
So I guess I better get to:alcoholic. IDK, even for my size, that seems a bit too much, but I guess if I wanna get this weight down, drink half my weight in water (plus exercising and healthy diet) will do the trick. I'm tryin to look extra fine when I come back to school for fall semester. So cheer, ladies!

Also, can't you die from drinking too much water? Didn't that happen a year or to ago?

ETA: O.k. I didn't see the top post about drinking too much water. My B.

I start the day with 24 oz of water and get 96 oz per day. I also do 16 oz of skim milk! All the liquid keeps the body "regular":yep:

I try to up my water intake during the summer. Right now I'm lucky if I get 48 ounces. (I'm working on it!)
