I use hairsticks, although I do have covered elastics with no metal parts.

(Buns)I use hair pins, clips, or nothing... After a while the hair is trained to curl around itself so it holds pretty well with nothing at all also!
(Ponytails)I use Goody hair bands or plain rubber bands( :naughty: ) or hair clips.

For ponytails, I use an ouchless scrunchie from Goody. I have the thicker ones and also the smaller, skinnier ones. For buns, I use Good Hair Days pins. You can find them just about anywhere, even supermarkets.

Scunci Hair hoisery are what I use to make a ponytail, to make a bun I wrap my hair aroung the ponytail and use good hair days pins (a godsend).

The ouchless bands have a coating the would still snag my hair, with the hair hoisery I still see hair but they are not broken pieces. Using a piece of panty hose is also good but it does stretch out.

I use mini-scrunchies, they have a fantastic hold and Ive never had a broken hair with these, they have a silky feel to them, they are Scunci brand found at CVS.
