I have some of the Scuncii hosery elastics that I use when I texturize. They are really good, they also make some very large ones too.

But for every day stylng I use Ficcare clips, French twist combs, Flexi 8 type clips, Stick Barrettes, hair sticks, Dolphin type clips, butterfly clips, and barrettes. I just make sure they are smooth, either before I buy, or I smooth them myself.

I don't like pulling my hair through a standard ponytail holder, so I used black hair balls, but then I didn't how the elastic broke down over time or the fact that there is a metal piece in the middle. So I cut off the balls and made my own "elastic" using pieces of old black support hose (from my pregnancy). I put a long strip thorugh the holes in each ball, adjusted it to the approximate length I wanted, then made a knot in the middle and trimmed the excess strip away. I fasten it in my hair with the balls underneath my ponytail so that they are not visible. I see it as an improvement on the ouchless band concept. It works great for me.

I just use an ouchless elastic band or a scrunchie. I know they're played and from the 80's but I don't care.:lachen:

Bobby pins the the extra long ones.... I hate all kinds of rubberbands my hair always gets caught up in it gives me breakage!

I use goody ouchless no metal ponytail holders no oil and i rotate positions every so often.

Hum...Maybe b/c I am a newbie but I don't get the pantyhose way of securing the hair.

Can someone help a newbie out?!?!? I am not that artistic and my imagination was already spent for the day! LOL!

I would like to try the trash ties! They are cute but in all honesty they are a bit expensive for me. The concept seems nice. Maybe I can make some... I'll wait on the review :-)

I use elastic bands without metal sometimes, but I also use big decorative barrettes, which do have metal clasps. I've never had any breakage from ponytails though. Pantyhose stretches out too much for me most of the time, but I have used it when nothing else was available.

I use a big fabric scrunchie:yep: .. it's impossible to wrap it around my ponytail too tight and I've had no problems with it so far

hair bungees, bought them at sally's no hair snagging you can control the amount of tension, they are hard to use at first takes some getting use to, but once you get the hang of them they are really good especially the no hair snagging part.

I use ouchless elastic bands. but I never thought about pantyhose....I am surely gonna use them from now on
