I remember when i first came to the boards (LHL days) with the intention of growing my hair 2 inches longer to brastrap length. Since then i've had bad relaxer experiences and bouts with damaged hair. Now i'm proud t say that my hair "issues" are mostly solved. Now, I'm just caring for my hair really well and hoping to see significant growth this coming year... what are your goals? Whether repairing damaged hair, finding the right products, transitioning, or anything else I'd like to hear.

I sported mid back length (almost waist length) hair for about 2 years during my early 20's. I would love to sport that again. The only reason I cut it was because an Optimum relaxer caused my hair to fall out.

My goals are going to vary based on my mood

But overall it's just to have healthy hair! I want to grow it very long relaxed, cut it off and then grow it very long natural.

I am letting my hair "be"! Healthy and vibrant is my top goal. The length will come because I am giving my hair tlc. I won't be obsessing over my hair just tending to it and letting it do it's normal thang, grow.

My hair would be super long, if only I wasn't getting them daggon inch and more trims every 6-8 weeks.

Now, I'm growing out my hair. I still want to fully reach bra-strap length, although I'm ending relaxers.

Hi Beana3, My main goal is to have healthy long hair. For too long I was one of those people who had brastrap length hair but it was soooo messed up. People used to say, your hair has a good length but you have split ends everywhere and it always looks so dry. Yet I didnt care back then. Now I do. All the females on my mother and father's side of the family have or have had waist length healthy hair. I always felt like I got the short end (pun very much intended) of the stick in the gene pool...but it wasnt that.... I was just damn careless...Now I am not. Coming to this board is a blessing for me. I am closer to transitioning now than ever before. I am taking it day by day. I have it written down to do my next touch up Aug 31 then Dec 31 BUT....Im thinking I will bypass both. So to shorten this, lol.. I want healthy long hair and I am possibly going natural.

I'm waiting for the broken section of my hair to be the same length as the other parts. I won't be so obsessive about my hair after that.

Yeah, right!

I want thicker hair. Simle as that, then the length can come

But thicker hair first.

I would like to have healthy, thick shoulder length hair, these are my goals for now.

I am still searching for a good regime and trying not to cave in with cutting the little bit of growth I have accumulated. Although I did have my hair cut in layers a few weeks ago..I am working on patience too

I second that. I'm just leaving this thing ALONE. It's working out for the best b/c it looks like i may have gotten nearly 1 inch last month. I'm sticking to my crown and glory techinque for as long as I can stand.

Hi Beana,

I just want to maintain healthy hair as I get to bra strap length without any setbacks. Once I'm at bra strap length then I think I will be satisfied and just keep it healthy at that length. I thought about possibly getting some layers but I think I'll just let it stay the same length all around.

I want healthy bra-strap. I had to realize awhile ago that I can't just achieve that in a short amount of time, because I want to grow out my damaged hair first. I have shoulder length hair, but I'm growing out a couple years worth of coloring, abuse. I'm down to just a few inches of hair I want *gone* and then I'll grow it all out from there. I can see the progress I've made because my 'fresh' hair has thicker smoother strands and looks great. My ends don't look bad either, they're just a lighter shade and I'd like to get to the point where I have uniform, natural color.

Beana, I share your goals (TLC, hoping to see serious growth spurts) and Caramela's (long, healthy relaxed then natural).

My goal is to have fly-a** looking hair EVERY DAY!!! Ok its vain, but true. Since joining this board, I have learned to care for my relaxed hair and now it is so much more moisturized and healthy. At times, I focus more on hair health than on style, but I want to have both...healthy, soft, bra-strap length, PRETTY hair!!!

What am I waiting for? I'm patiently waiting to reach my first goal (between shoulder blades). Right now it's like watching paint dry, I've had shoulder length or somewhere there about, all my life. Which is where I am now. I'm waiting to venture into unknown territory...further down my back.

Right now, I'm focused on eliminating previous relaxer breakage, keeping my ends healthy, keeping my new growth moisturized, and reaching waist length all while I transition to natural hair hopefully within the next year.

me too!

well my short term goals are to be able to put my hair into a bun so i can protect my ends, then next i want to have healthy natural hair which is mid-back..For me, 6inches is the longest hair i've had so anything longer than that, which is actually healthy then i'll be happy

What a great title for the post beana.
I want thicker, longer hair like elbow length. The post made me realize that I need to stop being so cheap and buy the biotin and b5 to help me get there faster. After I get there I am thinking of going natural.

I'm just enjoying my hair...I am no longer intimidated by it.

Very well put! I also want to add, that I want healthy, long, natural hair. I love updos and sweeping hairstyles. I want long hair to be able to do that.

I just removed 6 inches of relaxed, color damaged hair one week ago and so now I have a few inches of relaxed hair left. I want to have all of my chemically treated hair removed by January.

I'm waiting for my natural hair to be shoulder length so I can go outside looking like a wildwoman!
I'm waiting for me to start loving my new natural growth like everyone else here.
I'm waiting to see what my hair REALLY looks like when it is chemical free.
I'm waiting for ..... a miracle!!!!

I'm waiting on my hair to gain 3-4 more inches so I can layer the right side of my hair to match the left.

I've decided to maintain some layers because I like the voluminous look they give my hair.

Wow! I'm really enjoying reading everyone's goals. I too want thicker hair as reflected by many posts on this thread.
