I always seem to *rediscover* coconut oil. I would stop using it because I didn't like the smell but it makes my hair feel so soft and has better sheen. It works fabulous with DCs too. I should really get some more - different brand - hopefully, the smell won't be as strong or offensive.

I'm just finding out that I don't have to use heat to make my hair look good. Rollersets and braidouts are my new loves  I also found out that my hair LOVES hair grease as a sealant after I co-wash/moisturize. :yep: After reading some the comments in this thread, I want to try porosity control and cermides.

KCCC and KCNT. I didn't want to like it b/c I thought it was way too expensive. But I'm learning that one application lasts me over a week, which makes the price very affordable.

I have realized that Suave and VO5 conditioners are what my hair absolutely LOVES! It was always embedded in my brain that "cheapie products" were no good (thanks mom!) but its quite the opposite.

Everything doesn't work for everyone...To each its own. that is what I learned a few days ago.

:yep: I realized early on in this journey that my hair hates frequent conditioner washes. It prefers to be washed and conditioned every 1-2 weeks, any more than that for my hair is way too much manipulation. I kept trying at first though because it seemed "most" people on here loved them.

The best detangler in the world (at least in my case) - using a wide toothed comb while my shower head is set on "jet massage"

Adding coconut oil to my hair gel makes my hair very shiny and soft. The gel rinses out of my hair much easier too. I started off with a tablespoon but I'll only use a teaspoon when I start up with a new jar of gel.

Just come to the realisation that my hair does not need long sessions of weekly DCing. The key to stopping my hair becoming bone dry is twice daily moisturising and applying it in sections so every strand is coated.

Also that regular Oil Moisturisers are what my hair likes not 'au naturale' butters which seem to coat my hair, not moisturise it. I've been using Optimum 3 in 1 Oil Moisturiser for the past week and this is going to be a staple for me.

I had been very apprehensive about flatironing my hair 1-2x a month to keep the ssk's at bay. I'm glad I did though I've retained alot of length since march. I usually rollerset, and then flatiron. My hair HAS to be stretched out via braid n curls, rollersets, or flatironing. If not, I'm just asking for trouble.

So yeah the thing I had been trying to avoid, is actually helping me.

I will cosign on this!!!
